Great story mode. However, the bugs ruined the whole experience with both online and local. Still good game on consoles but not PC

havent watched or read the manga but the game welcomes both first timer and fan. the game is fun and the special moves are indeed special. MORISAKIIIIIII!

an excellent Tsubasa game with more depth to it than I had anticipated. great replayability thanks to the New Hero mode and I have not even spent time in Online yet, except a couple games just to try it out with a friend. with especially discounts being thrown around pretty often, I'd say this is a must pick for any fan of the anime/manga series.
ps: fifa players beware, this is NOT your typical football/soccer game so if you're expecting a mostly realistic depiction of the sport in this game, don't buy it before watching some gameplay videos first.

For now I am reviewing after playing casual matches and training.
Why? Because the starting menu is pointing to that when pressing start. After weeks I found out that from the online matches menu you can go to the ACTUAL main menu where you can select story mode, hero mode etc... ;-)
What a funny way to HIDE a beautiful part of the game??? ;-)
Apart from this UI issue, well... I am a Captain Tsubasa fan and... IT IS FUN. It is stronger than you. When a special shot is kicked, a goal is made few seconds before the ending whistle, when 4 players get K.O. at the same time, no fouls or yellow card... The German Gigantic goalkeeper is catching the ball with his elbow and thigh ah ah ah... IT IS CAPTAIN TSUBASA, gentlemen. Buy it

I think the basic mechanics could be improved upon. They are simple and work fine but I feel far too simple in some aspects. I am guessing that due to focusing on special skills they were not a priority.
One thing that would be cool is having the option to only control your own player in the ''New Hero'' gamemode or only Tsubasa in the ''Story Mode'' instead of the entire team. I feel this is a critical feature for a football career, implemented in games like FIFA and PES. Hell, you already kind of only controlled your player in the PS2 Captain Tsubasa game. Why not implement it here too?
Optimization could be better. The servers are also infamous for being bad.
Of course, there are many other flaws if we search thoroughly but I think almost anyone would find that this is a solid game besides these.

Ran great for singleplayer on the Steam Deck, needed some tweaks though cause of the anticheat.

The game itself is quite good, you don't need the DLCs to enjoy a bunch of hours on the story mode and play with a friend or three. If you're really eager to play the DLCs do wait for a sale, they're really not worth your money but they might be worth your time, I guess.
