How to obtain Medusa’s head in Dragon’s Dogma 2

In the world of Dragon’s Dogma 2, brimming with mysteries and adventures, one of the most thrilling moments is encountering bosses, and Medusa is among them. Drawing inspiration from ancient Greek mythology, Medusa is depicted as a woman with a head full of snakes, capable of turning anyone into stone. In Dragon’s Dogma 2, players encounter Medusa as the first major boss while attempting to escape in the prologue.

However, meeting this dreadful creature is just the beginning of your journey. After the initial encounter with Medusa, there is an opportunity to meet her again in a hidden cave in Battahl. Although the path to her lair is long and perilous, the reward awaiting you at the end is worth all the effort.

To find Medusa, head to the Nera’Battahl Windrift cave located in the western parts of Battahl. To easily reach the cave from Bakbattahl, follow the western entrance towards the capital and ascend the stairs to the hilltop. Then, use the moving cart to reach the Central Station of Battahl Ropeway. From there, you'll find four moving carts leading to different parts of Battahl. Choose the southern direction to approach the base of the southern mountains. Descend from the Fourth cart station of Battahl Ropeway, proceed back and take another road, then turn right at the first intersection. Keep moving until you reach the next intersection and enter the cave hidden among fallen trees to find Medusa.

When encountering Medusa, it's crucial to know how to obtain her head – a powerful item capable of defeating enemies like Drakes. To do so, you need to target Medusa's head during the battle. The most effective vocation for this task is the Thief, thanks to its swift dagger strikes. The quality of Medusa's head depends on her health when you sever it. Cutting her head around her first health bar yields the Preserved Medusa Head, while doing it after her first health bar disappears grants you the normal Medusa Head. However, severing her head when she's dying yields the Withered version.

It's important to remember that Medusa's head won't remain fresh forever – if not used immediately, it will spoil and disappear permanently. Additionally, after a few days, Medusa will respawn in the same cave, giving you another chance to defeat her and obtain her head.
