Amnesia: The Bunker will take you to a dark and chilling bunker, permeated with the cold of the World War II era. The goal of the game is to escape. Players are given the opportunity to choose any method to accomplish this task. Whether to use stealth mode or face the monster head-on is up to you. To progress through the storyline, you will need a bolt cutter. It will help you unlock locks and acquire necessary resources. Below, we will explain how to easily locate the bolt cutter in the game.
Note: You may encounter the bolt cutter at the very beginning of the game, but you can only take it after obtaining the wrench key from the cabinet with a combination lock.
Step 1: Infiltrate the control checkpoint
Navigate to the prison, following the map. One of the locked cells with a soldier inside contains the bolt cutter.
In the center of this area, you'll find the control checkpoint. Break through the locked door on the right using any available weapon you have. The fastest option is a grenade; however, it will surely provoke the monster. After the explosion, quickly return to the entrance of the prison and wait for the monster to leave.
Step 2: Open the required chamber
When the area becomes safe, return to the room with the exploded door. In the right corner, there is a grille that needs to be removed using the wrench key. Return to the control checkpoint and open the necessary chamber using the right switch.
Opening the door will attract the monster again, and it will attack the soldier inside the chamber. You need to hide to avoid being noticed by the monster. Simply sit by the door and wait until the monster finishes its business.
Step 3: Claim your reward
Once the monster leaves, you can look around. Take the bolt cutter from the open chamber. Don't forget to make space for it in your inventory. Upon obtaining the item, the "Toolset" achievement will unlock. The bolt cutter will grant you access to any locked door with chains, whether it's an entrance to a room or a cabinet. Additionally, the bolt cutter will allow you to cut tension ropes and safely collect explosives. Overall, it is an extremely useful tool for progressing through the game.
