Baba Is You is an award-winning puzzle game where you can change the rules by which you play. In every level, the rules themselves are present as blocks you can interact with; by manipulating them, you can change how the level works and cause surprising, unexpected interactions! With some simple block-pushing you can turn yourself into a rock, turn patches of grass into dangerously hot obstacles, and even change the goal you need to reach to something entirely different. The game has over 200 levels that experiment with the game's mechanics in a multitude of ways, requiring the player to understand and manipulate the rules of the game and figure out devious ways to make the objects in the game world interact.

A beautiful game that challenges the part of your brain that deals with abstract thinking.

Do you want to stare at a screen, touching nothing, brow furrowed, for hour after hour? This is the game for you. It's like dark souls, except the boss is some stupid little collection of stupid words that are stupid. And mean. And lame. I don't need words anyway!
10/10 highly recommended.

Whoever made this game is incredibly smart. The puzzles are actually hard and stimulating, and the art and mechanics are crisp. Easily 10/10 and I never write reviews.

It's hard to believe that a sokoban game about changing the logic of its levels would appeal to a broad range of people. What caught your eye when you first saw "Baba Is You"?
Take a look at any screenshot or video featuring the game and you will see short sentences and charming creatures, the combination of which create an accessible shorthand for relaying a puzzle. Once familiar with this shorthand, "Baba Is You" can also viewed as a collection of comic strips featuring recurring characters in amusing predicaments. This is imitated in the Steam reviews where people make up their own variations of the game's rules to share an experience or communicate an emotion.
"Baba Is You" is a monumental achievement in game design; it is built on a concept that seems simple enough to prompt the occasional "I wish I came up with that", executed to an incredibly high standard. Each of the subworlds seen on the main map contains only a small selection of levels to avoid repetitive puzzles and maintain the desired difficulty. I cannot imagine the number of iterations it took to get these levels to be as streamlined and neat as they are. The difficulty increases quickly as you figure out the unique mechanics of the word blocks; the only hints you get come from the level names and the starting layout of the words and objects.
Solutions to the puzzles are never immediately obvious and often lead to satisfying interactions or surprisingly funny moments (a good number of which come from trying out the obvious solutions). "Baba Is You" feeds both the feeling of accomplishment that comes from solving a hard puzzle and the enjoyment you get from applying the rules you learned to set off a fun chain reaction. The rewind feature is a lifesaver, allowing you to easily test an interaction without having to redo the previous parts of the level when your plan inevitably falls apart.
The cherry on top is the inclusion of an easy to use level editor with a way to share or download levels online. Hempuli (the creator of "Baba Is You") released two official level packs that should contain enough levels to satisfy those brave enough to be asking for a sequel.
The wonderful art style, ingenious level design an distinct regional music left a lasting impression; I'm truly excited to experience any games this developer may come up with.

It's way too difficult for my liking, but if you like extremely hard puzzle games, then this is for you.

I would like to take a moment to mention and appreciate that, the developer of this game, with the amount of intellect and imagination it took to create this game and all of it's levels, instead of;
1) Uncovering every mystery of the universe
2) Taking over the entire world
He chose to just create Baba is You instead.

Baba Is You is one of the most original puzzle games ever made. If you enjoy bending your brain and messing with logic instead of just button-mashing, this one is a gem. Each level is like a brain teaser where you have to rethink how the game works. Just be ready to sit there sometimes staring at “Flag is Win”… with no flag in sight.
I wouldn’t recommend Baba Is You to just anyone. It’s definitely not casual – it looks cute and simple, but it can be really frustrating. If you get stuck, the game doesn’t offer any hints or help. You either take a break and come back later with a fresh mind, or you’ll probably end up searching for the solution online.
This isn’t the kind of game you play to relax after a long day. It’s more like a brain gym – super clever, but also mentally exhausting at times.
