Play Astroflux – a retro styled, action packed MMO space shooter.
You start the game with a puny “pew-pew”-ship and start your journey to explore the huge Astroflux Universe. Team up with other players and take down the aggressive bosses and hordes of enemies while you search for new materials and scraps to upgrade your ship.
Astroflux sports cozy arcade graphics paired with modern awesome particle effects. And, the soundtrack is great!
Enjoy and fly safe!

Edit from the grave (9/4/2017): If any of you are reading reviews to see whether or not to play this game: take some of these reviews with a grain of salt. I wasn't actually planning on making edits to this review, but some of the past complaints of "high level players stealing boss kills" are particularly amusing, since XP scaling dictates that the only bosses new players have access to aren't even worth sneezing at by high level players.
Not only are they amusing, but I find a couple of these specific "not recommended" reviews ironic, since I distinctly remember another veteran player and I having to intervene on at least two of these separate occasions when dozens of new Steam players were complaining about being kept from the first boss by players that attempted farm them solo. (Oddly enough, they didn't consider it "kill stealing" when they were the ones receiving the loot.) Of course, once we interrupted them to give a kill to the little guys, they threw up their metaphorical hands, shook their fists at us meddling kids, and decided to settle the score with an all-powerful thumbs down.
Why they had such a knee-jerk reaction is beyond me. Perhaps they don't like people being kind to new players. Perhaps they don't like cooperation. Perhaps they didn't like our suggestion that they could create their own private game instance, in which they could farm whatever they want, whenever they want, without any distractions. But I'm thinking - and this is just a hunch here - that laziness won, and if they couldn't play the game exactly how they wanted, then nobody should play the game.
All of that being said: I feel a bit sad that a grindy, somewhat laggy, but ultimately *fun* game is having potential players driven away by reviews of a couple sour players.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
In a game that rewards players with bonus XP for grouping up, the only time you see the words "kill stealing", is when why are some of these reviewers complaining about having their boss kills (plural) stolen? And what's in it for high level players that will get +1XP from a boss kill?
As someone who has already been playing the browser game for about a year now, I'm glad to see this game come to Steam. For anyone who is unfamiliar with the game, the initial experience may be a bit jarring - it's easy to pick up, but harder to master due to the lack of official guides and a steep-ish learning curve. However, once you know the in's and out's of the game, it's a lot of fun.
I recommend that new players check out the Wiki page and the forums, as the game throws you into the fray and will expect you to figure out a lot of it for yourself. Hopefully we can get a few guides up here as well to help people orient themselves as well.
Edit: I've added a guide to cover most of the game basics, as well as game mechanics and other useful information. For other resources, check the Astroflux Wiki, the Astroflux Forums, as well as guide videos by "TheCen" on YouTube. (TheCen also has written a brief tutorial with links to some of his videos.)

Some P2W features but it's not a huge issue. Can obtain everything in-game. Premium currency drops in game. Fun. Addicting.

Good game, although it is pretty unbalanced.
-OP weapons that high level players spam.
-High level players can instakill you if they want, you will find lots of them that will try to farm you.
-A recent balance update has improved DOM and DM (pvp modes) for low levels but has increased the inequality between low and high level players.
-Insanely OP ships, most (if not all) of them being Nexar's ones.
Now, i think that this game is one of the greatest ones i have ever played (i have been playing it since 2012...), i can say that right now i am one of the oldest players that is still playing, it can be addictive (a lot addictive), do not say that i did not warn you.
Maybe you will be asking yourself:
Is it worth playing it at the moment?
Well, the answer is YES, it is, the game is under development, you will have to wait but at the end, you will be having fun, really, at least you should try it, even if the game may be boring at the start, by the time you play it is secure that you will find more players whose will make the game even better.
Good luck and fly safe :)
PD: Still learning english, i am a native spanish speaker, hope you can understand all (or most) of it :D.

Ignore the people who don't know what Pay To Win means.
This game is all about Earning. And in order to EARN things, you have to PLAY it.
The truth is, Astroflux is a fun game to play with friends.
The community is really nice for the most part.
The game has RPG Elements! YES there is a bit of grinding involved. People didn't complain much when there was stuff like this in Final Fantasy, they shouldn't now.
The game has a few bugs, yes. Then again you have many other high-rank games that do. so, nothing out of the ordinary there.
gameplay is really nice and fluid. and it feels satisfying to kill those bosses you were having problems with before.
I look through these other Reviews and a lot of them do not make sense to me. and a lot of the negative ones haven't REALLY played the game or are stating what practically amounts to being a lie, or them crying because they got banned for showing unacceptable behavior in chat.
Astroflux is ever-evolving and is really fun or even theraputic.

Surprisingly fun to play and very addictive, not bad for a retro true survivor.
