Look, let’s be honest. This game is what happens when a smaller studio decides to make a massive, choice-driven BioWare-style RPG. And you know what? It mostly works.
You play as a fancy diplomat with a sword, a pistol, and a baffling amount of charisma, sailing to a mysterious, super-green island called Teer Fradee.
If you miss classic BioWare RPGs (like Dragon Age: Origins or Mass Effect), can forgive a modest budget, and want to explore a beautiful, mysterious world with a great crew, get it on sale. It’s an AA game with AAA ambitions and a whole lot of soul.

although I don't disagree with the sentiment of those who did not recommend the game, I enjoyed myself, had fun in combat, loved the world building and lore, and overall just liked playing the game. the people who don't recommend it aren't just wrong though and if you expect too much you'll be disappointed. I wasn't however and continue to recommend the game.

An average mid-budget open-world action-RPG game. You can give it a try if you like the genre, but that's about it. I personally like GreedFall's overall vibe, but I definitely don't recommend it to casual players. It does an 'okay' job with everything—worldbuilding, RPG elements, action system, storytelling, character development, graphics, etc.—but it doesn't excel in any of them.
It's a solid 6.5/10 and will probably offer you some fun hours and a memorable world to discover, leaving a pleasant aftertaste when you finish. You'll speak positively about it without overpraising it. Anyway, have a good time in old Menawí.
De Sardet: "The first time you saw me, did you really think I was a native?"
Síora: "Aside from the way you dress, you resemble a native. I have never seen an on ol menawí amongst the renaigse
before. Is it so surprising that I made this mistake?"

There's a frustrating amount of running back and forth in this game, and it does get repetitive, but overall not a bad game.

Ugh, I would say recommended with a HUGE CAVEAT:: ONLY if you're into janky games like TWT and Elex, etc and ONLY if its on deep sale.
This game IS servicable. Don't misunderstand. I still generally enjoyed my romp through the game, I liked the story, and the combat is fine. There's some itemization, some customization, some relationships / dialogue choices, etc etc etc.
But.... GOOD..LORD.. the DIS-RE-SPECT these developers have for your TIME! (deep breath). The amount of ridiculous running you do going back and forth...back and forth....back and....forth? Over and over and over and over. A weaker man would have snapped.
I finished the game and I liked the story, but I will not be replaying to 100%. I'll go insane and you'll see me on a bodycam video, I swear...
Unsure if I'll be looking into Greedfall 2 or not at this point....I need a break.

Positively suprised by GreedFall. The game shows its age in some parts (a bit too many fetch quests for instance, a lack of fast travel options at times) but the story and worldbuilding are amazing. Just the care put to flesh out the natives is enough to warrant a try. If you enjoy a good story and solid worldbuilding and can look over some of the more janky aspects, I can recommend this game.

52 hours , that's how much it took me to 100% the game. Do I regret it? Not even a little. I started the game not expecting much from it, after all we all have seen and read the bad reviews. Immediately the story captured my attention and made me want to learn more about everything. The prologue had a little bit of everything ,teaching you how to deal with various situations and how many routes one can take to achieve their objective in the game. But the real surprise came when you reach the main area. From politics, to corruption and even war, you deal with all of them and try your best to minimalize the casualties on all sides. War might be profitable and all that, but you are not here to enslave the natives, you are legate, a diplomat ,but as we all know, some things don't go as planned...
I won't go into details about the story, what I said above should suffice, yet your choices in this game will impact how the world react to you and how you and your companions end if you ignore them or are evil to them.
Now, onto another subject, I will talk about the combat a bit. Its not a style loved by many, I personally enjoy it( I love the one in the second game even more, but that's another topic better left alone). Many people find it boring or tedious, but I like how you have a ton of options to fight starting with melee weapons and ending with magic rings and spells. Yet my favorite was to use traps and guns against everything.
I hadn't encounter any bug which I have to say is pretty nice, just as how the game is beautiful. I highly recommend taking screenshots when you can as they will turn so good.
All in all, this is one of the few games I loved so much despite the emotional roller-coaster that broke my heart and stich it back up so many times along the journey.
