It’s been nearly six years since I last fired up this game, but the memories still hit like a nitrous boost. It reminded me of the glorious chaos of the early 2000s racing titles—more Gran Turismo A-spec meets demolition derby than precision motorsport. Sure, it was supposed to be about clean lines, tight turns, and tactical driving. But my strategy? Cause total carnage. Run rivals off the track, send someone spinning into a wall, break free from the wreckage, and blaze through to victory. Unorthodox? Absolutely. But you’ve got to understand—I’m from the generation that cut its teeth on Twisted Metal and Carmageddon in the '90s, where vehicular manslaughter was practically a game mechanic and nobody blinked twice.
Those were the days when games didn’t pretend to be moral teachers. They just let you cause chaos to a killer soundtrack. Speaking of which, the fact that Iron Maiden was blasting in the background just sealed the deal. GRID may not have been designed as a full-contact combat racer, but the AI drove like it had a personal vendetta—so I gave myself permission to return the favor.
Was it fair? Not really. Was it fun? Hell yes.

Super jeu pour l'époque. Encore plaisant à jouer, bonne physique pour la conduite des voitures. Je recommande.

GRID Autosport will give you many hours of racing joy. Sometimes it'll be a little challenging but mostly the game is pretty easy.

This game is just fine. It isn't a huge leap forward or anything groundbreaking, but it was a necessary step in the series after the disappointment of Grid 2. I definitely recommend it if you can find it on sale somehow, but you won't need to put tons of hours into it.
I have put a decent amount of hours into Grid Autosport in the last few years, coming back to it recently after getting a Steam Deck. The game's progression is reminiscent of the first Grid, where you compete across multiple disciplines of motorsports. I've always loved this era of Codemasters racing titles, as their physics have the right amount of balance for something that feels both fun to play and reasonably realistic. Autosport leans to the arcade side of things but it isn't a negative.
The biggest negative I can say about the career is that it feels grindy and a bit lifeless. Races feel samey from time to time. And one of the biggest criticisms of this game at launch was while it brought back interior views that were missing from Grid 2, the view is blurred except for everything outside the cockpit. In a way, I like the choice because it pulls your attention to the track, but the interior views are just not finished. No dash lights, not even a simple rev counter light, so you can't even drive in these views without the dials on. Thankfully they fixed this on subsequent games.

It's rare, but sometimes, there's this moment in the car where everything goes quiet, my heartbeat slows, it's peaceful, and I can see everything, and no one, no one can touch me. And I am chasing that moment every time I get in the car. I don't know when I'll find it again, but, man, I want to. I want to. 'Cause in that moment, I'm flying.

Perfect balance between sim and arcade, lots of fun

In this game, the handling feels very intuitive and nice, cars have some weight and it corners well. It not as enjoyable as the previous Grid 2, with some kind of story and nice progression, but it worth if you are a fan of the series and wanna something new.
