Radiation Island is a survival adventure game where you craft your own destiny in a huge open world environment. As part of the Philadelphia Experiment you have become stranded in a parallel, alternate reality. Discover this new and mysterious world, with all its surprises. Use everything you find to survive it and solve its puzzle to get back to the real world. Follow your own path in an environment of breathtaking beauty and gigantic scope. Explore huge forests inhabited by dangerous wolves, bears and mountain lions. Investigate abandoned villages and old military compounds where zombies guard vital tools, weapons and clues to the secrets of this world. You can even swim and dive, if you can avoid the hungry crocodiles.

While I was at my A school for the Navy (2015). Everyone else on base had just bought new Xbox's and PS4's, but not I, I had my family send the IPad to me. Scanning the Apple store for some type of simple survival game to dwindle my time away i stumbled across Radiation Island. Looked kind of dumb, but once I got the feel and understood how big the game actually was. I was hooked. Building bases. Exploring this massive island. Oh, and surviving whatever the fuck the game sent at me. Zombies. Monsters. Animals. So many different enemies you have to keep asking yourself, "What else is out there?" Also, just a simple island layout makes the game very nice to explore. Never really getting lost. Also, the glider, and it actually controls well on IPad to PC. Very impressive game that I highly recommend.

It's alright. There are obvious issues, the graphics looking uncanny at times, models and animations being of low quality and physics/ building feeling pretty horrible. Though it does offer a good amount of content for its price, and overall has some entertaining qualities.

I don't think I'm close to beating the game, however I'm gonna go over what I've noticed so far. The games just kinda meh.
There's nothing to the combat. You either shoot the enemies before they reach you at all or you facetank with melee. Enemies are waaaaay too fast imo. If they run into a slope they will literally ramp through the air. They also attack at machine gun speed which is kinda annoying.
Having to craft ammo constantly is very grindy and makes the game boring. Plus I feel that the weapons are very lack luster compared the hundreds of zombies you're pitted against. Plus there's literally 20 ft tall zombies.
The building in this game is very janky. First of all half the time you won't be able to place anything because the game just won't let you. The game will outline your builds in red when the terrain is unsuitable and it pretty much does that everywhere, The snapping in the building barely works also. Also everything has to built on a foundation and if your foundation is destroyed either everything will fall down or you won't be able to build onto that structure further. Literally any interaction with any tool including your fist can destroy a foundation. So it's very easy to destroy your entire house while trying to do so much as destroy a table and move it.
Using stairs foundations and ceilings and floors alleviated this issue.
On the bright side the map is quite large seemingly. There's a large enemy variety so far. I've seen at least 4 kinds or mutants or zombies. Plus at least 7 different animals. I haven't explored very much so I hope there's more variety going forward.
Going forward, I think I saw one new enemy.
overall the game is just functional enough to be somewhat fun.
4.5/10 just mainly because the building sucks so bad.

as much as I believe this game does need some work, and it's not exactly a masterpiece or anything, I could honestly care less. the gameplay itself is pretty fun but what always draws me back in to play it is the overall atmosphere.
the graphics aren't incredible or anything but the game looks really really nice, especially with how far things render in the distance. the ambiance is good, and the music is great.
I don't think it's an incredible game, but I do recommend the experience, I've always had a lot of fun with it and always ended up immersed
