Valley is a First-Person adventure unlike any other. Hidden deep within a remote region of the Rocky Mountains, you find yourself bewildered within a secluded valley. With the power of a recently discovered L.E.A.F. suit (Leap Effortlessly though Air Functionality), run and jump your way through beautiful forests, dangerous ruins and vast environments all the while utilizing the power to control life and death to uncover the startling secrets of the mysterious valley.

A solid platforming game that makes you feel like the guy you imagined running alongside your car when you were a kid. A couple of points in the game are purely there to make you feel fast and I love that.

With the recommendation from Soviet Womble, I decided to check out this game. Just happened to be 85% off so figured what the hell. Totally linear game but back to old school just plain fun. Really enjoyed it.

If I never hear the word 'wendigo' used for some random game or online fiction series enemy again, it'll still be too soon.
Anyway. The gameplay of this is great fun. The story is - well, the worldbuilding is pretty silly, there's no getting around that. But the story itself is pretty good and touching. The gameplay is great fun, and I really like how you can backtrack to any previous map zone to explore with new abilities and find extra secrets.
If you think you can stand/jump to somewhere, you probably can.
I also liked how it REALLY let you clamber further against the boundaries of the map than most games would. I had a lot of fun with this game! Definitely really liked that while I was trying to get all the collectibles (Full Power achievement took me ages) the maps went ahead and told me if there were power upgrades left to find, so I wouldn't spend extra hours wandering around in maps I already cleared. I definitely appreciated that.
Good game overall! I had a lot of fun with it.

Wow, this beautiful looking tech demo has some real potential if they end up fleshing it out!
Well, okay, I'll stop with the unfunny jokes and unnecessary shade-throwing and try again, here we go:
When Xen levels in Half-Life and aesthetics of Bioshock love eachother VERY VERY much-
Whatever
Anyways, while having interesting and fun ideas the game is indeed as barren as a tech demo and feels unfinished. Level design for example, even if purposefully done, is way to open that it ends up as casusing problems, for example if you wander too far away from the designated path you might end up softlocking yourself. However, I don't really think you'd want to wander in the first place as there is almost nothing, or at least nothing worthwhile to do in levels anyway. But I have to say, core aspects -especially the graphics- within the game aren't exactly what I'd call bad or unintuitive but it feels terribly unfinished both because of the abovementioned aspects AND the fact that there is almost no challenge, so much so that I had to make my own (not by softlocking though, just trying to reach places that initially looked unreachable, and I've succeeded most of the time... Hardly a challenge).
Nevertheless, I can't say that I haven't had a lot of fun with the game aswell. Despite not offering much substance, what it offers often ends up being fun and entertaining despite not being anything special. There were glimpses of brilliance but anything in between -mostly the long periods where you are left to find out where to go and what to do exactly since the "cardinal" (I guess?) hardly helps- really takes the whole experience down significantly. At the end, coming from the same developers who made Slender: The Arrival, I just wish it had the same amount of love and polishing that one got. From what I see from their recent updates, it doesn't seem like that they'll try anything creative like this one anytime soon either, shame.
Damn, this turned out to be way longer than I initially thought so here's a TL;DR: Game looks beautiful and has some neat core ideas but also has as much content and depth as a Koi pond.

A surprisingly interesting story told through a game whose mechanics are incredibly simple, but somehow perfectly sufficient. Valley does a very good job at giving a sense of speed as you're running down hills, tunnels, and across bodies of water. I feel like they may have even done this better than most racing games. Recommended for a quick 3-4 hour experience on a night where you're burned out on AAA games designed to suck all of the time out of your day and all of the money out of your wallet.

Very strange mixture of parkour and walking sim with a good storyline, mesmerizing world and astonishing soundtrack. Valley needs even more praise than it has already gotten for its features could bring out the whole franchise of games and even movies! The manipulation of life and death is really good as a concept and it is such a shame that just like Slender The Arrival this other piece by the same devs has been let to fade slowly away. So go and give this game a chance! It is a blast from the past!
Slender The Arrival is one of the scariest games I've played but this is one of the most beautiful games I've played.

Great gameplay and visuals, but story is kinda silly. You're telling me that scientists created an exosuit with superhuman speed, agility, immortality and the ability to manipulate life force but still wanted tofind the macguffin in order to make a giant bomb I mean, come on. You already made the ultimate superweapon, just improve on that! Imagine striding across the battlefield in one of these bad boys, upgraded with twin life force manipulators that have adapters allowing you to connect them to rifle-like implements. You could turn the enemy into lifeless husks while resurrecting your comrades, or rush into the enemy camp and pop a cyanide pill to "die" and siphon the enemy's life force on a massive scale to resurrect yourself.
