As I'm uninstalling V for the last time, wanted to take some time to write a few words of appreciation. This game might not have the same place in people's hearts like 4 or 3S, but it was the first SF I actually learned, grinded, spent all night playing sets and matured as a player and person with. I think Capcom really invested into this series over the years and turned this ship completely around from the scuffed launch. The game was definitely in a much better state towards the end of its life and the future looks really bright for street fighter. This was their first attempt at modernizing their IP, since 4 was still developed with arcades in mind. So if you could call it anything, it was a crucial stepping stone for the street fighter team to learn how to develop an amazing modern fighting game. I think they're going to knock it out of the park, and while I bid 5 a hearty farewell, I'm really excited for whats to come. Thanks for the all the entertainment over the years.

The game feels complete now and is a joy to play. Also a good way to practice while waiting for 6 to come out.
For people complaining about the adds for SF6 before a match, those can be disabled in the battle settings.

Hey there, if you're thinking about jumping into Street Fighter V, I've got some thoughts for you. A lot of players seem to be enjoying it, and there's a good reason for that. It's a great starting point, whether you're new to fighting games or just new to the Street Fighter series.
And let's talk about the player base. It's pretty active, especially in the USA Gulf Coast region. You shouldn't have to wait more than 1-3 minutes between matches if you're in Platinum rank. That's not too shabby, right?
Here's the deal. You can find some good deals on Steam, especially around Thanksgiving. So, if you're worried about the price, keep an eye out for those sales. You might snag Street Fighter V: Champion Edition for a steal.
The best part is that the skills you learn in SFV will totally carry over to SF6. I'm talking about the fundamentals like playing neutral, executing combos, and applying pressure on wakeup. All that stuff is transferable, and it's a solid foundation for SF6.
Now, let's get real for a second. If you just want a taste of Street Fighter and don't want to spend too much, there's another option. You can check out 3rd Strike on Fightcade. It's fairly active, and you'll learn a lot of the same skills there. Though I gotta warn you, there might be less overlap between 3rd Strike and SF6 than between SFV and SF6.
All in all, it's about what you're looking for in a fighting game experience. If you want to dive into the world of SF, explore its characters, and have some fun, then SFV is worth a shot. But if you're just waiting for SF6 and the price is too steep, you might want to explore other options for now.
Whichever way you go, I hope you have a blast and enjoy your time getting into the series!
