Dreadnought
Dreadnought is about one thing: team-based, capital ship combat. It’s a free-to-play shooter that puts you at the center of battles in space and above the surfaces of colonies across the solar system. But it’s not just you and your guns against the world. You have your teammates—outlaw captains like yourself—and a range of ballistic weaponry, Goliath nuclear torpedoes, and long-range Tesla cannons to fill out your earth-shaking arsenal. Combat in Dreadnought takes place at a deliberate pace, giving you just enough time to react to an ever-changing battlefield. During each match, you’ll be able to respawn as a different vessel and switch up your strategy—all while the opposing team does the same. Winning isn’t just about cannons, missiles, and torpedoes. Each vessel is equipped with an energy management system that gives your crew the ability to activate shields, boost engine power, and amplify weapon damage. Using this energy wisely is key to coming out on top.

The best and, unfortunately, the only game of its kind that I know of. I wrote to the developer and publisher to find out if there was any possibility of a sequel, or if the rights could be sold to the community. Unfortunately, I didn't receive a reply. Maybe if more people asked, it would get things moving again. The chances are slim, but better than nothing. I'm sure Dreadnought has a lot of potential.

As we all know this game is Dead. The Servers are -Offline-
but i just stumbled upon this Community Project, that atleast allows you to play it in a limited fassion:
What is this?
This is a c++ project that allows users to play the game Dreadnought without a connection to the (now deactivated) official servers. You must already own the game on Steam to use this patch. This is heavily WIP.
Currently Supported:
-Tutorial
-Multiplayer TDM, everyone will use the same loadout
Known Issues
-If you respawn while the death recap is still onscreen, it will get stuck onscreen

I played this game when it was in Alpha. Before that I played it when I went to my very first PAX South. I entered the Beta once it left Alpha, and I played it when the game went live. Sure I only have nine hours recorded on Steam, but I played so many more hours than that. This game...this game was everything I wanted out of Space ship to ship combat. The day they announced this game was closing, it broke my heart. The day it closed down I shed a few tears. I miss it to this day, and I wish it could be revived.

I miss this game so much; my cousins and I enjoyed playing this game. It's a real shame that the gaming community lost this game.

Truly a wonderful game while it lasted. Space world of warships but cooler. E-Sport materials if it had gotten the interest. I never managed to get to the end of the tech tree but I got close enough to see it's glory.
I fear though the reason this game didn't make it is simply because it wasn't predatory enough. You could get so far so quickly by just playing the game. It was built on passion and that doomed it's fate. Passion doesn't pay the bills. Cool games don't pay the bills. Microtransactions do. Dreadnought simply didn't stoop low enough.
o7 Dreadnought. You will be missed.
