The Banner Saga is one of the best series I've ever played, and the final instalment didn't disappoint. The series has a compelling story (trying to stop the destruction of the world), beautiful artwork, amazing voice acting, rich character development, gorgeous music and engaging gameplay. It's a tactical, choice driven rpg with turn based combat. The narrative is brilliant, your choices really matter, so be prepared to lose your favourite characters in the blink of an eye.
You should play the first two games first as this is the last of the series, and so it's the end of an epic story. This game is a must play. One of the most memorable games I ever played.

My eyes teared up the moment I opened the game and heard the launcher music.
10/10 if you like getting your heart ripped out while playing the most beautifully made, epic saga.

If I had a nickel for every installment of The Banner saga where my game crashed after beating the hard as hell final boss I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
It's more of the same as the first two parts, meaning beautiful artstyle and music, great characters and story and a unique atmosphere. Unfortunately it has the same cons too, the combat is still very clunky and the game crashes sometimes, for me once every couple hours but it's much more frequent for some.
Still, the pros far outweigh the cons, it's more than worth playing, if you finished the first two it's a must but then you probably already know that.

Just like the previous two Banner Saga games, this one is a must play. It concludes the story that spans all three games but seems to be shorter and more limited than the others. Battle and make dialogue decisions as the story progresses is what is done in this game. Everything else like training while in camp or rationing supplies that were done in the previous two games is pretty much non-existent here. This does not diminish the experience though as the story and atmosphere is what drives this saga home for what was a fantastic ride!

This series is amazing. Although I would give each individual part on its own a 7, the entire series combined as intended to be played is a solid 9/10 experience. The art and music alone carry this game miles but the story and characters really pull you into The Banner Saga. I have compared this to a viking version of the Oregon Trail just far more forgiving and far more enjoyable. With what feels like so many choices its hard not to jump back in to see what other outcomes I could get. This is a series that will get you to replay it no matter how well or poor you play first time around. Great stuff, can't wait to see what else the devs put out.

Great ending to the great saga/trilogy of games. The 3rd part was definitely the best in the series and you could notice how it evolved during the 3 games. This one had more variety, more animation, more story, more everything. It was maybe a bit harder than previous games, but there was no overpowered opponents so it was fair. Some reviews say that there are game breaking bugs, but I didn't see those. I had 2 freezes during my playthrough, one when I quit the game and one during loading of chapter animation. None of these game breaking, just restart and continue. Great game and great trilogy, definitely try it out!

If you've reached Banner Saga 3, you've most likely played through 1 and 2 already and know what to expect from the gameplay, art, story, and music. In most parts, Banner Saga 3 is just more of what came before, but for this game, they have gone all out on the animations and storytelling, making your choices matter more than ever before in impacting the story elevating it higher then ever before.
Truly a grand finale worthy of the series.
