This is not some half-baked version of AMID EVIL ported to VR, this is the REAL DEAL.

This is how to do a proper VR port! Amid Evil VR takes the core game (includes it with your purchase) and augments the game with natural interactive movements, new throwing mechanics, and an improved UI.
If you enjoy the base game, you will love this VR port. If you enjoy old-school games like Heretic and Hexen, you will love this game. It feels like going back in time and re-discovering a ground-breaking game like Quake for the first time.

Very fun game but it makes me feel very motion sick after a level or two, i don't often experience this in vr games. So this game might be a little more triggering for motion sickness than others.

This is far from a low-effort VR conversion. The game translates surprisingly well to VR, making it an excellent excuse for another playthrough.
Combat is satisfying as ever. The weapons, which were 2D sprites in the OG game, are now high-poly 3D models, which feel great to hold and look amazing. Swinging gestures were added to many of the weapons. They take some time to get the hang of, but you can use the trigger button to fire if you prefer. There's also more interactivity than before (throwing planets, throwing your weapons at enemies, etc.).
It still doesn't feel like a built-for-VR game, though. The constant strafing doesn't feel well-suited to the medium, and the games's many spiral staircases feel awkward at best.
The graphics settings offer a lot of scalability in performance, so this game should run well on most systems. Low settings turn the game from "impressive-looking" to "good for a VR game". I would recommend low settings so that you can play this twitch shooter at 120 FPS like God intended.
If you are already into VR and haven't played this game yet, it's an enjoyable first playthrough, provided you can handle a little jank. I would recommend getting the bundle and playing the flat-screen version first, saving the 2nd playthrough for VR. It's a fun time and I'm hoping New Blood ports more of its games to VR.

What we were all promised video gaming would be in the future. It is simple, it is FAST, it is beautiful and it is incredibly entertaining. If, when you were a kid, all you wanted was to live inside the boomer shooters you played (long before they were called boomer shooters...), this is the game for you. This is NOT a lazy port of a flat game. It is a very well thought out and beautifully executed port of an already entertaining game. Even if you already own the flat game, don't miss the opportunity to live the experience in VR. Big fan.

Phenomenal. Makes me proud to be a Kiwi and a fantastic VR game in its own right.

Insanely fun in VR, it was already great on release but the control improvements have made it feel super satisfying to play! Huge kudos to the very small VR team! <3 I haven't gotten very far yet but I will definitely play more in the future

Very fun to play. Plays like a true VR game with high speed movement, insane weapon swinging, shooting. Feels pretty OP the first few levels, but becomes more and more difficult with eacht level and realm you do. Every realm has it's own type of enemies that move and fight very differently. Very cool. Also doesn't need the highest specs PC, though some things might look slightly better if you do, it doesn't matter much. I love the colorfull retro style. It's very pleasing to the eyes.
