Play Astroflux – a retro styled, action packed MMO space shooter.
You start the game with a puny “pew-pew”-ship and start your journey to explore the huge Astroflux Universe. Team up with other players and take down the aggressive bosses and hordes of enemies while you search for new materials and scraps to upgrade your ship.
Astroflux sports cozy arcade graphics paired with modern awesome particle effects. And, the soundtrack is great!
Enjoy and fly safe!

A game I used to play alot as a kid when it was still flash based. Lots a great memories and great people when the servers will still active.
The balance was a bit wonky from system to system, and some weps/ships are just broken to the point that with arts they would define the meta for years unchanged.
The gameplay is still great, the movement, mechanics & the weapon types added enough depth to the game to require you to atleast think about how to counter specific enemy's, which is more than i can say for alot of simple games from this era.
Runs on a toaster so most anyone can play it which is important with how expensive new hardware is + its nice to enable users with old integrated graphics to have fun too. If the servers were up more often, it could be a fun time for a small group of friends. If the dev asked for infrastructure help, id love to try and run a (in-game) "system" with my spare proxmox resources if the game permits splitting up the servers like that, which i assume because of the loading screen when warping, but i have no real clue.
None the less, this game has plenty of value regardless of its age. It might mostly just be because of how awful alot of modern f2p games are now, but this game feels like it focuses on you having fun more than most others within the f2p category do. Im happy that i got to play at least 1 more time while i could still find active players, before the servers became alot harder to join & maintain a connection. Its never going to be as big as it was once, but its still nice to keep this old thing alive. I would only suggest playing this game if you have a bud to go with you. PVE is still more fun when you have a friend to fight alongside.
Oh also i dont need to use proton to run it, cant take that for granted. :)

A lot of the players mention development having stopped and that it is grindy, I'm just here to say that the game is being developed again and that there are plenty of discussions regarding balance.
I think the game is something you really should play, especially with the community being friendly. Some reviewers have only seen the bad this game has to offer, but I think it's a diamond in the rough that is actively being worked on by the developers.

This game is great but it disconnects you all the fucking time... it'll drive you insane but It's seems to play better at night for some reason!

Game servers can be a bit iffy, however great game overall much like runescape, but in space.

I used to play this back on the rows of PCs we had in school, good times. Yeah I'm letting nostalgia blind me from the fact this game is a grindathon, still though, worth every second.

Simple top down space game. Mission driven, PvP is optional, Collect scrap from alien craft you destroy, trade it in and upgrade your ship and crew. It's not a trading game if that's what you're looking for though.
