Unless you're looking for e-sports quality competitive online multiplayer leagues, this is the BEST sim out there for force feedback wheels; it detects different wheels, pedals, shifters, handbrakes (on different USB devices!) seamlessly; with the must have community-made Content Manager, changing settings for switching out wheels (F1 vs Drift) or accessories (H Shifter Vs Paddles) is easier than in any other game.

One of the best sim racing experiences you can get, even years later.
Assetto Corsa might be getting old, but it’s aged like fine wine - especially once you dive into the modding scene. The base game alone is solid but a bit barebones by today’s standards. The real magic happens once you install Content Manager and Custom Shaders Patch (CSP). Those two completely transform the game -better lighting, weather, physics tweaks, smoother performance, and tons of quality-of-life features. It honestly feels like a new title after that.
Then you’ve got the mods - cars, tracks, visuals, sound packs, everything you can imagine. The community support is insane, and there’s something for every kind of driver, from casual track day enthusiasts to full-on sim racers. You can go from drifting in Japan to racing GT3s at Spa, or even just cruising through city maps at sunset.
If you’re playing on a controller, don’t worry - there are some amazing Gamepad FX scripts that completely change how Assetto Corsa feels without a wheel.
For grip racing, there’s Advanced Gamepad Assist, which smooths out steering, reduces twitchiness, and gives you way more precision when braking and cornering. It makes racing with a controller feel natural and consistent.
For drifting, there’s a different script called A7 Assist, designed specifically for smoother countersteering. It makes it much easier to catch slides and hold long drifts without the car snapping or feeling unpredictable.
Both are absolute game-changers depending on your driving style.
Performance-wise, it runs great on most modern PCs, and the visuals can look stunning once you tune everything with CSP and a good graphics preset (would definitely check out Pure if I were you)
All in all, Assetto Corsa is one of those games that grows with you - the deeper you go, the better it gets. It’s not perfect out of the box, but with the right setup, it’s easily one of the best and most flexible sim racing platforms ever made.

This is a very expensive game.
First you try using a gamepad, but your lap times can't catch up to the harder AI or the online matchmaking. Then you buy a sim rig. Then you fall in love with sim racing. Then you try other sim racing games. Then you upgrade your monitors. Then you upgrade your GPU for the monitors. Then you upgrade your rig.
10/10.

Feels like I'm fast in practice.
I hop into a race.
15 seconds behind the leader.
Spins out when I try to go faster.
Great game.

its gmod but racing
this game is the most modded racing sims out there. you just don't play it, you build mods around the game to shape it and make it your own. If your not used to modding then its time to learn what the community has in store for you.
first download content manager
it has a free lite version that i personally use and handles loading in mod fairly well. it has a learning curve with all the settings but youtube is always a great guide.
shaders?!
yes if you wanna play this game truly like a mad man you need some shaders. personally i uses pure pp_filter and for the weather_fx, which make the game look truely amazing.
use a controller assistance mod
didn't think of that did you? yes this game's controller support is ass, but the community always provides.
last but not least
This game is really amazing because of the community, don't be scared to ♥♥♥♥ around with it and find out how far you can push this game with mods,

Alright, so Assetto Corsa. If you're into racing games, this one's a bit of a legend.
The main thing is how it feels to drive. It's not like an arcade game where you just mash buttons. This game makes you work for it, and you really feel the tires, the grip, and every little nuance of the car. It's incredibly realistic, which is a huge buzz for sim racing fans.
The biggest reason to get it now, even though it's not brand new, is the community. There are tons of free mods out there – new cars, new tracks, even graphics upgrades that make it look stunning. It's like buying one game and getting a thousand for free, constantly.
So, if you want to truly drive a virtual car and love the idea of endless free content from passionate fans, Assetto Corsa is absolutely worth it. Just know it's a serious sim, so a good steering wheel helps a lot to get the full experience. :)))

Highly recommended.
Get yourself content manager and CSP.
You will get the option to drive during night time, rain, fog...
The modding scene is big also.
I only play online on various servers.
It took me about 200 hours to get my controller to work just as I want to play with a controller properly so that I could set decent times on "the green hell" track.
I don't consider myself a racing sim fanatic since I only play with an xbox controller. I do greatly enjoy this game with all the options the content manager and the CSP adds to this game.
If you like driving cars with fairly realistic driving mechanics and a large amount of tracks. this game is for you. Sometimes with certain cars, i "feel" how the car responds which makes it even more realistic. Even with just a controller.
I played occasionally at a friends house who used fanatic racing gear. It made the experience even better and more accurate.
Once more, for a person who enjoys driving in games. This game is for you. I do want to inform you beforehand, it took me hours to get "good" at this game since I mostly play this for fun. I have this game for many years and will still play it for many years.
