the Game
Love Sucks is an adult Visual Novel, in which monster-kind has secretly integrated with humanity. Two monster girls, a vampire and a succubus have chosen you to be their date this Halloween! But their motives go beyond just showing you a good time… With the involvement of magical artifacts, monster police, big boobs and a sweet rump, can you survive long enough to save not only yourself, but the monsters too?
Or maybe you’ll just let it happen over, and over, because, screw it, the succ is good and there’s worse ways to go!
This is Love Sucks: Night One, the first part of three in your mission to get laid and not die doing it.
This is our first ever game. We hope you like it! ❤

Fun visual novel with great/unique art style and good pacing. The characters were well done, the voice work was also pretty good, with none of the voices making me cringe or wanting to turn the volume down.
Adult scenes were not animated; they're presented more like an online comic book, but I found that it fit the game's style perfectly.
Pretty short, but also very fun--recommended, especially on sale (or for the Halloween season)!

Honestly, it feels illegal that this game is free, as it works really great as a introduction into the story for it's sequel Love Sucks: Night Two. I've sank not even two hours into this and I don't regret a single minute of it. And if you DO find this game appealing, then get the sequel as it only gets better!

Best adult game I've played on Steam. Starts a bit slow, but lots of spicy content in all of the second half. The story and world are actually interesting.

Short but good. The art is fantastic, the writing is great. The vocal work seems to be inconsistent? Some of it is vocalized and some of it isn't? Vocals don't actually do anything for me in an AVN. I take the novel part seriously and reading doesn't scare me (sorry was that mean). But I tried the vocals for curiosity's sake and it seems only portions are vocalized. While that obviously saved on resources in the development process...I'd prefer all or none. Having a half-voiced visual novel is just annoying to me, personally. Good news for me is that I ultimately don't care! I just turned it off. Because again. Reading. Even a visual one requires it (here I'm thinking of a guy who once reviewed an AVN as negative by claiming that if he wanted to read so much, he would've bought a book...because a novel isn't a book...I guess...)
Anyway, the story is solid. Again, short, but this one is free. I have a feeling the second one, which is paid for, will also be short. But if it is as good as this one, it will be worth it. So what I'm saying is this: it's short but worth your time (because you pay for this with time...which is money...)
Edit - and big spoilers:
Dawned on me that there is a lynchpin scene that's full of authorial fiat. By lynchpin, I mean the entire plot rests upon said scene's occurrence. By fiat, I mean that the scene and its constituent elements occur in such a way as to seem arbitrary. Long sentence incoming: so, for the story to happen, there's a single night wherein the protagonist meets a demon huntress who *happens* to be weakened enough that she can be killed by monsters for whom the protagonist, who previously didn't even know that monsters existed, *happens* to take mercy, all while wearing an enigmatic spell rune that the huntress *happens* to have and that *happens* to interact with the plot's artifact, despite the demon huntress not even knowing what it does. All of these elements are fine in and of themselves; they can all happen. But that they all happen at the same time, with little plot justification and seemingly by improbable contrivance, makes the plot feel weaker. It's just a weak point in the narrative that I couldn't place my finger on before. Still, the story is enjoyable as long as you suspend disbelief for the fiat elements.

Not to out myself but this game has amazing art and an interesting plot. I will get my hands on Night Two: Electric Boogaloo when I have the cash

First game of this genre I have played and I am really impressed. The artwork and audio are both top tier, the story line engaging, and the spicy stuff is well done. Has me wanting to try other games like this! (cue night two!)
