When he awakes in an old abandoned asylum, his sole memory is the attempted rescue of a teenage girl with a bomb strapped to her chest. Everything else is blank. With a strange technology fused to his head – used to read and replay human memory – Black travels into the depths of his own mind. To find the truth of his past. To find the truth of what happened. And to answer two very simple questions:‘Why were you there?’ and, ‘Who was the girl?’

I do recommend this game, but with a caveat. Get Even is a movie-game, and the game part is bad. I really wanted to like it but that's an unavoidable fact.
As for the "movie part," without getting into spoilers, the main story is one of corporate espionage/sabotage and kidnapping. Incidentally, it takes place in a condemned asylum inhabited by haunted manikins and homicidal patients. In the latter half, it becomes a family melodrama. It's an ambitious premise that can only be told through a video game, which is why I disagree with the people who say it should have been a novel or series.

Story and environment are really good, gameplay kinda sucks though. Pick it up on sale if you're going to play it.

This is a very unique game with incredible storytelling at its core. The narrative and characters are so strong that they often make up for the weaker aspects of gameplay. That said, it feels counterintuitive to design a shooter that penalizes the player for actually shooting. The level design, puzzles, and music are fantastic, all contributing to a deeply immersive atmosphere. The opening sequence, in particular, is one of the best I’ve ever experienced it immediately builds tension and anxiety, and if that was the developers’ intention, they absolutely nailed it. The game also features multiple endings, with the “Darker Path” being my personal favourite since it reveals so much about the protagonist’s backstory and motivations. Unfortunately, the controls can feel awkward. The cornergun is an intriguing concept, but using it often made me dizzy, forcing me to take breaks. The AI is equally inconsistent sometimes enemies can snipe you with pinpoint accuracy from across the map, while other times they fail to notice you standing right in front of them. What really keeps me hooked, though, is the lore. The world is packed with secrets and hidden details that reward curiosity. If you’ve enjoyed narrative driven games, this will likely resonate with you as well. Special credit must go to the sound designers and composers the soundtrack is hauntingly memorable, and I still keep several tracks in my personal playlist. Overall, while the gameplay has flaws, the atmosphere, story, and presentation make this a truly memorable experience. In fact, I think the concept has so much potential that it could translate into a phenomenal film one day.

A good Science fiction with a little taste of action, BUT! mediocre game play, I'm sure with more resources devs would have achieve a better game play, Get Even is a story of regrets and plot twists no doubt only if the conclusion was at the right place, it's a shame to see a great story reaches to an irrelevant ending no matter of which ending you trigger, both will disappoint the player.

Ok. So ,I'm giving a positive review. I only have 3 hours logged, and here is why. It's a beautiful game with a cool gun, but when you use the cool gun, you get yelled at. Why give me a cool gun or a gun at all if every time I pull the trigger, you yell at me? So here is what I'm going to do. I'm reinstalling the game right now, and I am going to shoot every bastard that gets in my way. If I get a bad ending, so be it. I'm going on a killing spree.

Well, this left me kind of speechless... Without spoiling it for others lets just say this is one twisted game!!! And I almost would like to use the headset provided to crawl around the people minds that wrote it, but I'm afraid I might get lost forever... It's definitely a masterpiece!!! I've seen things similar to this in real life and a lot of people probably wouldn't completely understand. Intel and DARPA did something similar to this in 1998, only they wireless hacked the human brains alpha wave. One crazy story, completely entangled and confusing until the end. Play it, love it, think about it...

I may need to do some internet research to complete this game. I bought it on sale and made about three hours headway into it.
