NOTE: I have around 200 hours on my old account on this game.
Awesome game, unfortunately, it's dead (multiplayer is really hard to find).
Sanctum 3 would be very much appreciated.

Recently went back to play this game I loved it as a kid, and man, it still holds up! Pro tip: if you edit the engine.ini file in your Documents folder to uncap the frame rate, the game runs at 400-500 fps, and it feels so much smoother. It really makes a difference.
The music, atmosphere, graphics, and strategy are still as good as I remember and still to this day are just as impressive and immersive feels like a weird fusion of Mirrors Edge and Destiny 2 in terms of vibes and i love it. Don’t listen to the negative review not sure whats up with that guy that just posted one – the real strategy isn’t just in the turrets. It’s all about how you build your maze along with the turrets then the class and perks you have. There’s a lot more depth to it than people might think.
If you haven't played Sanctum 2 yet, or it’s been a while, you should definitely check it out. It’s like if Destiny 2 and Dungeon Defenders had a baby. Multiple classes, different towers to unlock, a bunch of difficulty levels, and tons of progression. Plus, it’s multiplayer, so it’s a blast with friends.
Honestly, if they made a third game, I think it could blow up. Imagine bigger maps, a deeper campaign, more class/build options, and maybe even a skill tree. Turrets could get even better too. There’s so much room for improvement, but even as it is, it’s awesome.
In conclusion just set it to max graphics, uncap the fps in the ini file, tweak the keybinds a bit, buy all the dlc just to have all the content (more turrets, classes, perks, maps.) and you’re good to go. More people need to be playing this game – it’s a hidden gem with well over 25 hours of content!

Tower defence mixed with FPS? count me in.
This game takes both elements and combine them in a very good way.
Even today this game aged well, peraphs the graphics are lacking but the gameplay makes up for it.
Got the game for 3 $ with a friend, totally worth it.

Sanctum 1 and 2 hit on niche that is very underrepresented in in the gaming space. Someone come develop a spiritual successor and make a lot of money. Same thing with more levels, guns, upgrades, etc. It could be so good.

Probably the best tower defense game on Steam, but it's completely devoid of life at this point after so many years. A true shame.

Phenomenal FPS TD Game. This plus orcs must die are the best of this style of TD of controlling your own character in the mess while making your tower defense. Rip Deathtrap never actually making it to the finish line. Maybe one day that Sanctum 3 will come.

this is a game i played YEARS ago with a friend. not A LOT, but i did enjoy it. when he moved on from it i did too and just kinda.. forgot about it over all. Was thinking about it recently and had to browse through my whole library until i could find it, as i forgot the name entirely, but remembered what it looked like pretty vividly.
Reinstalled it tonight, and played for a bit and.. well i feel it still kinda holds up today. is it amazing? no.
is it dated? absolutely.
but is it fun? Yea, i'd say so.
I played the campaign for a little bit, and got a feel for the game again, before deciding to open a public lobby on survival, just to see what happens... much to my surprise? there was a person that joined in, and then another, and another. next thing i know i am just chilling with 3 other randoms in a game i assumed was long since dead just fighting back some anonymous monster horde that i have no clue what the name of is, or why they are attacking me.
after a while, they moved on, and i tried to play it a little bit on my own, to minimal luck over all. It wasnt IMPOSSIBLE, just significantly harder (IMO). I also found that i felt i was slowly having less and less fun when i was just on my own. eventually another player hopped in, which gave me a momentary pleasure before they dumped what points they had on me and immediately left. After this i decided to end the match a few rounds later and call it a night on the game.
Over all i think this is a surprisingly still fun game, with what appears to be a small, but still existent, player base. The weapons are hit or miss, and the towers are pretty neat. If you can catch it on a good sale, or already have it in your library i'd say it's worth giving it a shot. if tower defense games are your jam, i'd say jump on in this one and have a bit of fun on a dated game that i highly doubt will ever have a real revival.
