- Selected lines are voiced over.
- Choices to build, or re-build, a relationship with one of three characters: Lucille, Calix, or Edwina.
- Collect "keys" – bits of information needed to progress the story and discover the truth.
- The cursed kingdom is looping in time – you can use a flowchart to go back to certain choices.Characters:
You play as Madion, the jester who has lost his memories. Having been forced into a life of chaos, uncertainty and deceit, Madion starts off feeling conflicted, jealous and spiteful. He needs to let go of his dark thoughts and redeem himself. You can make choices for him, affecting his relationships with the other characters.Lady Lucille was forced to live in the king’s palace while he waged war on her homeland. Quiet and cunning, she adapted quickly. Lucille believes she understands Madion, and is always there to support him.
An orphan of common origins, Calix received a favorable place in the palace thanks to his good looks and charisma. Some believed he was involved with the king, but Calix’s eyes were set elsewhere.
As the king’s alchemist, Edwina used to follow His Majesty’s every command. She is strict and slightly paranoid, with a cold exterior, but Madion sees a different side of her.

The game starts a bit slow, with far between choices, but it improves drastically after the first introductory section.
The story itself is very good, and the way the story is created is absolutly genious!
The love interests seem very boring to begin with, but as the story unfolds, they get far more intriguing.
Calix is the only one -I- like of them, but the other two have traits other people might like.
And I did not like Calix at all when the game started out, but he has a hidden side well worth uncovering for those whom prefer lovers with a bit more darkness in them.
(I wouldn't say he is yandere, but he certantly have some obsessive and posessive qualities, along with a darker side to his personality.)
I only dislike that there is no more than two endings, and I wish there was more choices regarding how you feel about a certain King. But that is a minor problem, and may not bother people who are not as vengeful as me.
Overall this game is well worth the money, and it took me 9 hours JUST to get to the end, and that was with a lot of fast clicking when I got impatient and wanted to know how things turned out.
And if I remember right, the creators are the same as those who made the Demonheart series --which is a pretty good mark of quality right there.
Definatly a game worth buying.

*SPOILERS AHEAD*
Madion deserves better and shouldn't be giving his abuser any excuse, even if he turned out to be his bio dad. That shit's hella fucked up.
I wanted to throttle Calix into the fucking sun. I don't care that he turns out to be ultimately *good* in the end. This man is hella shady and gives me no reason to trust for a considerable length of the game. He's insufferable and clingy, and no offense to his VA, he's whiny as hell too. It's really hard finding anything redeemable about him, and yes, you may argue that he has *unwavering loyalty* but that's all under the guise of his orders as an angel that he's compelled to serve and follow.
Lucille's voice grates on my nerves - it's too high and mewling for me to find endearing.
Edwina was the most tolerable, although not the most compelling character. Even though I took a chance at every opportunity to develop her relationship with Madion, it felt lacking, like there wasn't much chemistry there at all.
I wish there were more Zeno, he was pretty cool.
Getting all achievements is gonna be a slog with the Affection system. I wish there were a way to jump to branches that affected this element of the game. Would make it so much streamlined and less of a soulless grind for achievement hunters.
I know I've complained for most of this review, but for the most part, this is a good game, just rough around the edges, as to be expected with an indie title. Just needed to vent a lil of the bad before mentioning the good, and by good, I mean Madion. Loved his character, voice acting, everything. Rolling Crown, what you did with Madion was perfect. And maybe that's why some of the side characters felt half-baked? All time and attention was given to honing Madion's character, it seems.

I played a ton of visual novels with flashy art, lux UI, and stylish writing... and no amount of this razzle-dazzle makes an excuse for lacking in storyline. This one is kinda the other way around. I enjoyed it simply cus it has this one, the most important thing in focus.
Yes, the art here is not very polished, the sound/voiceover is amateurish, and the writing is poorly edited. The story is simple and linear, even corny at times. The two female romance options may feel like an afterthought, but I was interested only in Calix anyway. And I enjoyed it for what it was.
Is this a guilty pleasure? Just try for yourself, I dunno.

It was well written and even though the impact of your decisions was limited, it felt like you could make the story flow to the direction you wanted
