Furquest
After a game cartridge falls from the sky, you wake up in a strange new world full of big heads, strawberries, manga, and cake! In this world, there are two sides to every soul: Main and Invert!
Welcome to Furquest – a cute RPG about loving your friends!
- A cute story about a shaggy dog, a lonely bunny, a goofy horse and a… wolf. becoming best friends!
- Minigame combat against a whole gaggle of chirpy and croaky monsters!
- Tons of games to play in the world – carve pumpkins, decorate snow people, read manga, play basketball + more!
- Unique boss fights covering a range of different genres from cooking games to visual novels!
- A sweet art style and a sour soundtrack!
In this world, there are two sides to every coin. Although… that’s true for every world, but, uh-
In this world, there are two sides to every soul: MAIN and INVERT. A happy Main will be matched by an unhappy Invert. An evil Main will be matched by a brave Invert, and so on.
However…
By stealing the other’s soul, the soul thief will transform into an incredibly powerful new form, a HERO SOUL.
After X,000 years of soul wars, Prince Aef has hereby declared friendship itself to be illegal to permanently separate the groups and permanently ensure that no soul will ever be stolen again.
One day, a rather strange puppy wakes up in this world. This is their story… er, quest!
Note from the developer (me! :3)
Furquest is a game I’ve been working on since April of 2017 and it’s been a long journey from then till now! At its heart, Furquest is a game about friendship and the bonds we form with those closest to us.
To give you a better idea of the game’s vibe, a couple inspirations include Undertale, WarioWare, Cooking Mama, and even certain aspects of shows like Avatar and Steven Universe!

On the one hand this game is inviting all kinds of unflattering comparisons to Deltarune, but on the other hand I paid a dollar for this game. And you know what? Good value for one dollar.

From the first glance, you'd think Furquest was heavily inspired by Undertale... and you'd discover you're right. But being inspired to tell a story and make a game thanks to Undertale is a great thing!
Furquest goes much heavier on comedy and less on gameplay than its inspiration, all of the 'combat' being resolved with a large array of WarioWare style minigames. Some are genuinely fun, not many are frustrating, and honestly they could stand to be showcased more, as after all that creativity, there are several that only appear once in the entire game.
The central ideas of the story, especially the idea of all people in its world having counterparts, have plenty of hooks and don't go to waste. Nothing is left hanging, though I would have appreciated it if most of these intriguing ideas had each spent longer in the spotlight to get developed. Furquest's message is clear from the start, and when it decides to drop the humor and be touching or unsettling, it makes an impact.
Furquest is nowhere near perfect, but dammit, it's got heart, and was clearly created by someone who cared about the story they wanted to tell and the way we experienced it. I'm glad I got to appreciate their work, because gaming in general needs more Furquests and less Concords.

It's fun and funny and has charm, but I gotta say I feel that some of those microgames go on for longer than they really should. (I'm looking at you, Mothman)
The good news is you can avoid encounters on the field, and when tasked with collecting three pumpkins I soon found myself with more than I needed, so it would seem you have the option to tackle key events in various ways; find something you don't want to do? Try someone else's task instead.
Not my most glowing review of all time, and I apologize for that; it's a good game at its core, but it didn't grab me quite like some titles have.

FurQuest is an amazing take on the "Choices Matter" RPG system popularized by games like Undertale. Choosing the Combat (if that's a right way to describe it) to instead be replaced with Microgames, customized to the enemies for encounter. This game while very silly had loads to say in regards to What friendship means. Personally for the price point it was worth every penny. I'm sure there's loads of hidden secrets I had not found during my play through, but either way, do yourself a favor, and check it out. It might just surprize ya.

Reminds me a lot to undertale and earthbound, but instead of turn based rpg, the combat are a varied selection of microgames, like warioware's.
Some of the microgames are tedious, most would benefit with shorter survival time for completion, but they aren't mandatory to progress and there are some extra activities to unlock a path if 1 or two of the others are giving a hard time.
Overall, really liked it, a lil bitterweet with the ending but that is what the game is about, really hope the community grows to the point of hunting for secrets and eastereggs that I might have missed. and my favorite game was the cake making!, really cute and always a fan of claymation, hope your future projects have some of that too, meow.

The game reminded me of Deltarune in it's style and mechanics and etc.
But yeah this game is different
I really liked the ending and the main plot!!!
But the gameplay...
There just were some moments when it was so boring and repetitive and it was so UGHHHHHHH
Kinda spoilers?
The game has 2 endings, but to do both of them you have to play TWICE.
Because after you do the final decison the game restarts. So yeah I didn't do the other one because
I just don't want to do these boring and repetitve moments again.
Overall the game in my opinion is good, the price is reasonable
Thanks for reading have a good daynight!!!
