Neon Abyss
Combining furious run ‘n’ gun action and deep, roguelike mechanics, Neon Abyss pits you as a member of ‘Grim Squad’ – a task force set-up by Hades himself to infiltrate the Abyss and defeat the New Gods. Death is not the end as every time you die, you’ll find yourself more empowered than before. As you progress through each dungeon, random item drops will be key in helping you infiltrate the Abyss and these passive effects can stack between every item. With no limit to how many can apply; a wide variety of combinations will make each run unique. With each run, you will be able to unlock new rooms, items, bosses, special rules and even new endings! This means each dungeon is unique and expandable, being tailored to your own specific playstyle. Hatch and Evolve Pets If you need some company on your journey into the depths of the abyss, or just some additional firepower or assistance, eggs can be found which will turn into a random pet that has a special ability and will evolve the longer you survive. Mini-Games Take a short break from slaying minions and take part in random mini-games that will also bag you some loot! Jump into Piano Performances, Meditation Challenge, Dance Competitions, and more – staying alive just got a lot more interesting!

Neon Abyss is a roguelite type of game, a bullet-hell action shooter with weird and questionable controls and solid boss battles. With an impressive arsenal of weapons and upgrades expect many hours of ,,dungeoneering''( Get keys, unlock doors and explore rooms filled with monsters and a boss to defeat at the end to progress) .
In terms of graphics the world looks decent with a retro style vibe, the 2d dungeons look amazing and if you like pixel art there is enough to satisfy.
There is a huge gap between easy and higher difficulties ,it becomes annoying when you die so many times but that's how this kind of games work.
If you played Dead Cells on android or pc expect a similar experience. Unfortunately the game doesn't create his own identity , but there is enough positives and originality to keep this a relevant title in his genre.
The fast action comes with good soundtrack, decent amount of enemies and well designed boss battles, however the repetitive room exploring can become a nuissance in time.
The idea to add minigames like piano and meditation challenges or dancing was great. I really liked the pet system and the retro looks but with a modern touch in aesthetics.
In a nutshell, Neon Abyss is a nice alternative to play in a market flooded with roguelites . In my opinion it's not the best in the genre but it's a nice option to consider.
Pros:
- Boss battles ( really fun and well designed)
- Nice soundtrack
- minigames (it's fun to take a break sometimes from killing monsters and do something else)
- pets
Cons:
-Repetitive
My review score:
Story - 4
Gameplay- 8
Graphics- 8
Sound - 9
Overall - 7.25

Neon Abyss is a whirlwind of action and frenzy. Its rogue-like system offers infinite replayability, with randomly generated challenges and stimulating item synergies. Dive into the Abyss and prepare for an electrifying, intense adventure every time !

It's alright. Play time is misleading - most of it is afk. I've probably played for about 10 hours.
There's nothing mind-blowing or innovative here, but it doesn't have any major flaws and is pretty fun. I don't really understand the egg/pet system, and I'm not convinced that the game is better for it. I also don't think it's a bad system; I'm just not sure that it needs to exist.
Some of the weapons are just absolute garbage, and I don't understand why you would swap out your starter weapon for them. It's not like you're ever forced to use them, so I don't get the point of even including them.
The game crashed on me once while it was minimized and I had been afk for awhile, and it softlocked another time after beating a boss. Neither of these was much of a problem, but it is slightly concerning when there are millions of games just like this that don't have that issue.
As with anything else, of course you should wait for a sale, but I don't think you'd be getting scammed at full price. It is a good game, and I plan on continuing to play it for the foreseeable future. For me, though, it's more of a time waster than something that I'm heavily invested in.

Very good rogue liek dungeon game with los of guns, abilities, perks and cgharacters to experiment with. I also really like the theme.
The whole game reminds me or is very similar to Enter the gungeon so if you liked that you will like this.

There are some items that can completely sabotage/ruin your run like Popcorn or Coin Bomb and you don't have the option to drop them but this is an otherwise great game

Good game, 7 out of 10.
Main issue I have is with the cursed gods at the end. The Zeus one with the red lightning is just stupid, you can get completely screwed by RNG which is annoying.
