The game is not worth the £54 it is, if you want it get it when its on sale. The character models & expressions are clunky and some of the animation just doesn't flow well at all. For something that is more expensive than Red Dead Redemption 2 on it's release I was expecting a lot more, like, maybe more than just a third of the characters having models? HOWEVER this is a fun game if you like Fairy Tail. It gives a watered down version of the plot of the GMG Arc (what I've played to so far) and I am enjoying it. The combat and controls are extremely easy to get the hang of and it's pretty smooth and fun to figure out the most efficient way to get rid of enemies without using too much magic power. It's also really cool to look around and explore the towns/areas that I watched on screen growing up. The music, while lacking the iconic Fairy Tail theme, goes super hard and fits well with the scenes (most of the time) and the voice acting is fantastic.
please for the love of all that is holy wait until its on sale again so it'll actually be a fun game not a 5ishGB waste of money that you regret paying for that keeps you up at night thinking about what you could've done with the money instead.
Overall, it's really a 'healing your inner child' type game. I'm thoroughly enjoying it as its super unserious and just fun to play :) Also p l e a s e look at Natsu's walking animation, I haven't laughed that hard in ages.

The story starts at a really late part of the anime (ep. 160 or something), so if you haven't watch the anime or read the manga, i guess you wont really know whats going on.
The controls are good on the controller, haven't tried the keyboard but i heard its kinda messy.
As a fairy tail fan, i really enjoy this game. Recommended!

Very true to the anime! I highly recommend this game for several reasons: it has a really good combat engine, the story is fun and it got me introduced to the Fairy Tail anime. If you haven't seen the anime, I recommend you to see it. There eare so many inside things you won't understand if you don't see it. Besides, it will make play funner because you will know the characters.
Highly recommend!!

This game is recommended for any Fairy Tail fans. The game is easy to complete and it brings back memories of the anime itself.
For those who complains and thumbs down the game because its not a "good JRPG" ignore them.
One Piece was not the best musou game, Naruto / demon slayer / DBZ is not the best fighting game.
We played them because we are fans and want to experience what we saw in the anime.
If the original price is too high wait for them to go on sale. For me it was worth it and I have about 50 hrs into it.

Edit:
Comming back to this after playing and beating the second game in UNDER 15 Hours. All i can say is that this game has way more to do then the second game and i change my mind that the amount of stuff to do is enough to pay 30~40 $/€ for the first game.
Some + that come to mind (contains minor/big spoilers) that i have not mentioned before as i just wented my frustraion of these games:
+ We have a quest board that has side quests we can repeat (not in the second game)
+ We have the S-Class trials that we can grind untill all Characters are considored S-class (also not in the second game and it has less playable characters)
+ We have the Grind to become Nr.1 Guild again. (not in the second game for obvious reasons but could have mad a rebuild the guild hall/magnolia Grind)
+ We have a party of four or five (cant remember) that WE CONTROL (second game has a party of 3, we can only play one activelly as the other members are ai and just spam the first skill you have equpped insted of healing or blocking, we can switch to ANY playable charecter during battle but ai doesnt do that to get an advantage so you have to remember elemental and attack type weaknesses)
Also check out my review for the second game BEFORE YOU BUY IT AND NEVER BUY IT FOR 70 $/€ like me 20 is even to much for the second game.
Old Review:
Positive vote because its my fave anime but im honest with the downsides of my time playing the base game was since i dont own the rift in time and space dlc or the dlc characters so i can say anything about that other than i dont think extra characters are worth 20€ each.
I Played this when it came out and have 100% on it got every character to s-class and all stats to 9999 on all of them.
Combat was good but repetative and later you can clear the whole map with one battle (only the boss will remain if you do a mission) meaning you can use the ability to fight 3 rounds of enemys at the start of the map and then run thru to collect items and kill the boss. Also difficulty just gives enemys more hp and as far as i noticed made the fights drag on for no reason so its better to play on easy or normal if you dont enjoy the time it takes to kill bosses. Hub city is quite empty with repeating npcs to the point that if you stand correctly you can have 2 sets of 3 identical npcs in one frame and i dont remember doing anything in it other then talk to the other charachters to increase the affinity by one level (also bad that you have to change to every character and repeat the loop until your done wich probably takes a few hours if you dont skip thru it like me). Not to mention it crashed after 9 hours of play time on the first day and didnt have auto save (dont know if it has one right now) so save every chapeter change and if you realy want to be save after every time you exit the battle map. Other than the crash and lost play time i dont remeber any bugs.
Spoiler: This is after the story so if you didnt buy it then stop reading this part. The guildarts fight is or atleast was impossible on anything other than easy since you can only fight him with natsu in a 1v1 and guildarts has a water attack and in the combat stily if your hit or hit an enemy with a waekness attack then they are stunned for one turn meaning he can kill you with a minimum of 3 attacks while you can only hit him once or twice. Even on easy it was a drag.
Only got it since Fairy Tail is one of my Favorite anime and will buy the second game after or a week before chirstmas. Cant wait to see if they improved all this or made it into another quick cash grab. There is so much they could have improved on.
Edit: Forgot to mention its not worth its full price so get it when its on discount as 2 hours are not enought to get to the real point of where you can say if its to repetetive for you or not. but definetaly dont get it for 60€. i would say at most 20 is ok for it and even that is on the nice side.

Good game to play to kill some time, the combat can get to become a grind but you can autobattle and turn off the battle animation, story follows the manga so don't buy if you think it'll be a new story. would recommend at discount not full price.
