No need to be an artist. Create nice textures in a few minutes.
This software allows you to create textures by combining basic operators.
You stack operators in a hierarchical fashion to get a result.
Simple and fast UI.
128bit internal resolution to prevent loss of higher range when combining effects.
Try the demo first to make sure it works on your PC.
The projects created with the demo are compatible with the full product.
Limitations:
- English only, no UNICODE support for filenames (when saving/loading), only basic ASCII.
- The UI is not customizable, i.e. font, font color, font size, window color.
- Export formats supported: JPG, TGA, TIFF ( Export is disabled in demo ).

So one of the other reviews complains that other programs, some of which are free, can do similar things to this product. The product is basically a slimmed down simpler version of filter forge only much much cheaper. Similar functions can also be found inside the blender node editor. I have used both, and yet i've found Working with Zeuxis to be a much easier and more enjoyable experience.
Nodes are scalable, connected through direct contact, and in a seperate window than the settings that they contain. This makes arangement rather easy, and an entire set can be put off to one side on its own. Using the copy and load nodes a set of nodes can be saved, and its output duplicated to entire other areas without having to redo everything.
Some of the aspects i like are probably things that only I care about. In the combine node, you can combine the different rgba channels of the two inputs in different ways choosing between things like add, subtract, multiply, etc where as in other programs I have used I would have to seperate the different channels out and handle each of these combines seperatly.
I love the way that this program handles normal maps. It can generate one from basically any input, and does a better job then some other programs do with the same feature. You can then apply a lighting node to it to generate a lit surface from different angles. This is monumentally useful to me.
I like this program a lot, but that doesn't mean nothing is wrong with it, But the creator has responded to concerns or requests that I have brought up in the forums.
I suggest anyone who is even remotely interested in this software try out the demo first and see if it fits their needs. If it is useful, its $6.99. I spent more on food today then that.

I was looking for a quick way to generate some textures for a very specific project, and Zeuxis did the trick. I am not a graphic artists and most graphic softwares are too complicated or are have so many features that I get lost. Zeuxis is simple, light weight, not very expensive. I was able to create the textures I needed within a few minutes of use (I use Zeuxis less than an hour, and I got everything I needed for my project). I could not ask for anything more.

An insanely powerful texture creation tool that can make some amazing stuff when used effectively.
All of the images and screenshots you can find of this software do not do it justice, which is a shame, because the program ends up becoming overlooked.

I would highly recommend this. I've been playing around with it in the demo for some time now and it's extremely versatile in the fact that it will certainly come in handy for sure!
I have searched high and low across the internet and while I have found and tried a few open source ones they are extremely old, outdated, and very limited whereas this one is far superior in the fact that you can prodecurally generate all sorts of texture types and maps for them included mainly the important ones - diffuse, spec, alpha, normal, etc,.
The only complaint so far that I have is that the learning curve for these is very steep but once you get the hang of how to use it fully then it all comes together for using it very effectively. Some better guides for this would be very helpful.

Its hard as hell to figure out but its a pretty powerful procedural texture gen. Great price. We need addons..

Still early in it's life but so far, looking like it could compete with Genetica and other high end software programs for doing texture making. I use programs such as this every day and I really feel the price tag, whatever the price moves to, would be well worth it for this piece of software. Currently I'm using it in my own projects but I would like to see the program feature PNG/JPG outputs as well. Currently as of this writing, only TGA and TIFF is supported as an output if you want to export anything. Still, even with that and the 4096x4096 max resolution, you should still making great textures with this program. I give it a 8.9 out of 10 rating.

AWESOME. Not only will it create procedural textures, but it will do it with alpha layer, normal map, and tiled. I can't believe it was so cheap.
The only thing I would ask for is a Undo/Redo command.
