Yoku has arrived on Mokumana and he’s ready for the easy life, soaking up the sun and delivering parcels on a tropical paradise! However, an ancient Island deity is trapped in a restless sleep – and it’s all down to Yoku to traverse the island using a unique blend of pinball mechanics, platforming and open world exploration, in an amazing adventure to help those in need! Flip and bump our pint-sized protagonist around the stunning hand-painted island on your quest to rebuild the post-office, and wake an old god from its deep slumber.

Yoku’s Island Express ist ein wirklich charmantes Flipper-Metroidvania. Die farbenfrohe Gestaltung ist stimmig, weder quietschbunt noch kitschig. Es ist nicht schwer zu spielen, dennoch unterhaltsam, und es macht gute Laune. Ich hatte viel Spaß daran.

Yoku’s Island Express is a truly charming pinball-metroidvania. The colorful design is cohesive – neither garishly bright nor kitschy. It’s not difficult to play, yet still entertaining, and it puts you in a good mood. I had a great time with it.

Dieser Platformer ist pure gute Laune. Die Spielmechanik macht sehr viel Spaß und wird im Lauf des Spiels komplex genug, um eine gute Herausforderung zu sein. Die Handlung ist kurzweilig und das Hauptziel relativ schnell erreicht. Viele Nebenquests erhöhen den Spielspaß, und manchmal ist die Lösung ganz schön knifflig und erfordert mehr Geduld, als man bei der Leichtigkeit, mit der das Spiel daherkommt, annehmen würde. Alles in Allem ein sehr gelungenes Spiel.
