The glitz, glamour, and unbridled decadence of the 80s are back in Yakuza 0. Fight like hell through Tokyo and Osaka with protagonist Kazuma Kiryu and series regular Goro Majima. Play as Kazuma Kiryu and discover how he finds himself in a world of trouble when a simple debt collection goes wrong and his mark winds up murdered. Then, step into the silver-toed shoes of Goro Majima and explore his “normal” life as the proprietor of a cabaret club. Switch between three different fighting styles instantaneously and beat up all manner of goons, thugs, hoodlums, and lowlifes. Take combat up a notch by using environmental objects such as bicycles, sign posts, and car doors for bone-crunching combos and savage take-downs. Fighting is not the only way to kill time in 1988’s Japan: from discos and hostess clubs to classic SEGA arcades, there are tons of distractions to pursue in the richly detailed, neon-lit world. Interact with the colourful denizens the red light district: help a budding S&M dominatrix learn her profession, or ensure a street performer can make it to the bathroom in time – there are 100 incredible stories to discover.

Dachte immer GTA Klon, aber hat 0 damit zu tun. Ein Yakuza RPG, mit den am Abstand witzigsten Nebenmissionen, die ich je gespielt habe. Chars sind 10/10. Die anderen Teile werden safe noch gespielt!

Yakuza 0 ist kurz gesagt ein Meisterwerk. Es ist eine der besten Spielerfahrungen, die ich jemals hatte. Die Hauptstory ist hervorragend geschrieben und bietet ein packendes Krimidrama, bei dem jeder Charakter spannend und unterhaltsam ist. Besonders beeindruckend ist, wie die beiden Hauptcharaktere, Kiryu und Majima, mit ihren unterschiedlichen Geschichten perfekt miteinander verbunden sind. Ich konnte jederzeit mit den Höhen und Tiefen der beiden mitfühlen und gerade die traurigen Momente haben mich richtig in die Geschichte hineingezogen.
Die Substories bieten eine humorvolle Abwechslung und sind der perfekte Kontrast zur düsteren Hauptstory. Auf einmal trifft man auf Michael Jackson oder infiltriert einen bizarren Kult und das direkt nach einer emotionalen oder packenden Szene. Das Kampfsystem ist ebenfalls fantastisch. Mit vier verschiedenen Kampfstilen für jeden Protagonisten fühlt sich das Gameplay nie eintönig an und bleibt immer interessant.
Was das Spiel aber wirklich ausmacht, ist die Welt. Ich konnte unzählige Stunden in Kamurocho verbringen, weil sie einfach lebendig wirkt. Selbst wenn man nicht gerade in einer Substory steckt, gibt es immer etwas zu tun. Sei es, entspannte Runden Darts oder Bowling zu spielen, im Casino sein Glück zu versuchen oder japanische Brettspiele zu lernen (die ich anfangs kaum verstanden habe). Und natürlich das beste Highlight in Yakuza: Karaoke ^^
Insgesamt kann ich Yakuza 0 wirklich jedem empfehlen. Das Spiel hat mich emotional richtig abgeholt und gleichzeitig unglaublich viel Spaß gemacht. Die Mischung aus der ernsten Hauptstory, den humorvollen Substories und der lebendigen Welt ist einfach nur perfekt.

So you might ask why a person that has only three hours in this game allows themselve to write a review about
Yakuza Zero? Well its quite simple actually! I completed the game 4 times both on the Ps4 and Xbox one (back when it came on gamepass)
Yakuza Zero is in my opinion a 10 out of 10 game, really? A 10 out of 10? but how!

Yakuza Zero does everything right for me, the Music, the Storytelling and Character Designs, Voice Acting and sidecontent are PEAK enjoyment for my Braincells.
Rarely has a game made me so addictive, so full with enjoyment and interest for its plot and characters!
The combat is easy to learn and hard to master, part of the skilltree that is fully optional is locked behind cp points and rewards you for doing sidecontent. The Game has 3 distinctive combat styles for both Protags, each with their own heat actions, ups and downs and personality.
The Substories are the best in the franchise, most fun, most rememberable and funny, i feel like future games and those before cant reach these highs again (except for maybe kiwami 2)
The Sidecontent big, Real-Estate/ Carabet managing/ toy car racing/ Sega arcade and lots of more.
The humor is refreshing and makes a superb balance with the serious toned storie, giving you the the break needed from serious life consequenzes while everything is going to downhill (or up) in MSQ (Main story quest)
i would recommend this game for any brawler fan, for any comedy fan of crazy japanese humor, for managing minigame fans and people that like a lot of reading! Because this game has the text sum up of many visual novels.

Eines der besten Spiele die ich je gespielt habe. Yakuza 0 war mein Einstieg in die Reihe und hat mich so sehr gefesselt das ich nun binnen eines halben Jahres schon bei Yakuza 6 bin.
