The glitz, glamour, and unbridled decadence of the 80s are back in Yakuza 0. Fight like hell through Tokyo and Osaka with protagonist Kazuma Kiryu and series regular Goro Majima. Play as Kazuma Kiryu and discover how he finds himself in a world of trouble when a simple debt collection goes wrong and his mark winds up murdered. Then, step into the silver-toed shoes of Goro Majima and explore his “normal” life as the proprietor of a cabaret club. Switch between three different fighting styles instantaneously and beat up all manner of goons, thugs, hoodlums, and lowlifes. Take combat up a notch by using environmental objects such as bicycles, sign posts, and car doors for bone-crunching combos and savage take-downs. Fighting is not the only way to kill time in 1988’s Japan: from discos and hostess clubs to classic SEGA arcades, there are tons of distractions to pursue in the richly detailed, neon-lit world. Interact with the colourful denizens the red light district: help a budding S&M dominatrix learn her profession, or ensure a street performer can make it to the bathroom in time – there are 100 incredible stories to discover.

friendly reminder that you can still purchase the original release of this game on GOG. please buy that instead of the god awful so-called “director’s cut” that completely ruins the plot, adds a multiplayer mode nobody asked for, and makes it so that the game somehow takes up almost 100GB of storage space.
trying to get into the yakuza games after RGG shot themselves in the foot lowkey feels like a walk of shame because seriously wtf is happening. absolute franchise falloff.

Yakuza 0 will soon be delisted on december 8th to be replaced by an overpriced and totally pointless "remaster"
This is the game that got me into the series and is probably one of my favorites games ever. Great story, great characters, great gameplay, pretty much great everything
And precisely as someone who loves this game so much I suggest you to do yourself a favor and buy it now that you can so you don't buy that director's cut bs

Just bring back this one out of delisting limbo.
The original Yakuza 0 is widely considered the superior way to experience the game's story, despite the release of the Director's Cut in late 2025, the original story is considered more cohesive.
Most critics of the Director's Cut point out that its new cutscenes (roughly 26 minutes of added content) introduce questionable retcons and "pointless" additions that can actually detract from the emotional impact of certain scenes.
For many players, the "phone booth" saving system in the original is a core part of its 1980s retro charm. The Director's Cut allows saving anywhere, which some argue makes the experience slightly less immersive.
Please, SEGA.
No more delisting games that are far better than their replacements.
I accept new versions, but it will be nice if just let the originals and their new versions existing together.
More profits for you, because veteran and noob gamers, old or young, can enjoy it to each their own.
