A very WONKY Indie adventure game, where you play a WIZARD that runs around casting spells; traveling across the landscape. This game is played in a top-down/ 3rd person RPG format, with mouse aiming, ‘click-shoot’ style gameplay. There are currently 2, 6 level worlds, with many more to come in the future! Following a WIZARD with bad luck regarding mushrooms. You’ll Wander ‘Wonky Woods,’ and get your revenge on those evil mushrooms! But watch out, the forest holds more than some little mushys… There are potions, giant mushrooms, mushroom wizards, and much more! One year in-dev Indie game, Enjoy this tiny piece of my brain!

What's up gaming lords and lordettes! Starting things off, let's just say there's a little something for everyone here! In Wonky Wizard, you take the role of Wonky Wizard, a wonky wizard that possesses neat abilities commonly associated with wonky wizards! The game starts you off in a wizardly location with wonky encounters ranging from stout shroommen, wonky shroom wizards, the like! An all and all wonky cast of characters! But look out! Their wizard abilities will leave your player wonky, and you'll have to traverse the terrain with some expertise!
It's a great time! But it isn't all upsides...
The game has a tendency to a be a little...wonky. Wizard abilities may stave off your foe, sure, but I can't help but feel like this game is a little too demanding of its player base. Casting wonky spells to annihilate the demented lurkers of the wizardly pines but no invincible shield??? The hell???!
I understand, it's supposed to be a triumph, a sisyphus climb to the top of the proverbial wizard hill, but honestly I was expecting something more out of a game this robust in its presentation. Sigh... Maybe one day developers will learn to leave these wonky design choices behind to ensure its player base a more enriching, wizardly product. Games are supposed to be an escape, an astral projection from the soul sucking realities of day to day life. Alas, we get what we get...
Also, I can't help but bring attention to these wicked demons you eviscerate with every beam of pure energy. The shroommen, stout and wonky sure, are just a tad too short for my refined tastes. Perhaps seven feet taller next time? We all want to feel that coming to God moment when we de-atomize every soulless wretch that bastardizes these damned pines. A curb stomp to every last spit ingesting scourge that plagues these once beloved greens. It's terrible.
Now on to my next point of contention. The wonky map design!!! LIKE WHAT IN THE CRAP IS THIS?!!?
Do the architects of this wizardly gaming realm truly think we, as life long gamers, want a map so mind bending it pushes us to the brink of conscious extinction??!?!?! Trees? Yep. Dirt? For sure! Orbs of impermeable power dangled avast the lows of twigs?!?! NO!!!! HAVE WE LEARNED ANYTHING?!!??! I wanted to harness this power, save the princess and get the wonky stars lying just beyond the horizon, BUT I CAN'T!!!! NO POWER, NO THRONE, NOTHING!!!! Are we really supposed to believe these globes of infinite wizardly radiation don't guide us on our noble way???? An oversight for sure
Also, why do the warp gates resemble the transporting doorways known classically to Stargate? I can't think of a better comparison, so excuse me if my level of expertise in this matter flies over your head :/
Lastly, no bad freaking ass duking of fists? No wizardly repertoire from which we summon spirit murdering missiles? No epic flips? No parkour? Very lame to say the least...
I'll close out my report by saying this game is...wonky...
You get your wizard, you dispel the bottom feeding filth of once sacred gardens, and you level up. Simple. But that's okay.
I guess what I'm trying to say is Wonky Wizard isn't perfect, but damn if it doesn't get close.
An amazing game that leaves me breathless, literally heaving with every encounter. I was in awe, the shroommen were sufficiently tall, and it's because of games like this that I have faith in the future of gaming! A cult classic in the makes, right alongside the likes of Portal 2, Halo 3, Mario Galaxy, and The Witcher 3! Just...wow!
I give this game a 6/12! An above average experience that will be a long standing example of how GOOD, no GREAT, games are made! A little something for everyone, with a unique twist ;)
