Two things hold this game back from greatness for me:
- No matter what spells you use, the most effective playstyle is always to unload them all as quickly as possible, because enemies get stunlocked that way, and stunlocking enemies is far safer. Then you run around waiting for all your spells to cool down, and repeat. The game even encourages this by saying things like "20 hit combo!" and a charge meter that empties unless you hit stuff.
This all results in gameplay that feels a bit one-note, despite having probably around 200(!) spells in the game.
- There are spells that are tied to dashing (e.g. "leave a fiery wake behind you", that kind of thing), but there is no way to have separate inputs for just doing a regular dash, and for using your dash spell. Since you are constantly dashing to avoid attacks and jump over chasms, you don't really have control over a major part of your arsenal, with your dash spell triggering when you don't want it to, and then being on cooldown when you'd want it.
-A third thing: there are hundreds of artefacts with interesting effects and synergies. Much like in Binding of Isaac and its ilk, you find them sort of randomly, but you can choose ONE starter artefact. Being able to choose two (max three) would be better though, in my opinion, because it would enable actual mini "builds" instead of relying on RNG.
Other than these, the action does look and feel cool, and the whole vibe of being a battle wizard, slinging fire and lightning at monsters in superfast combat is definitely something many of us probably enjoy.

The only downside is that you have to git gud to enjoy the game fully.

I'm gonna be honest, this game is hard for most people. A lot of people quit the game because it is essentially the same gameplay loop over and over. However, since I had no other game to play while waiting for Ranked Valorant, I decided to 100% this game. I've beaten this game many times now, unlocked every relic, cloak, and arcana (chaos as well) and now have no use for the game. The gameplay would definitely be better in a story driven game but there is nothing to keep players coming back to the game. Hell, if it weren't for coronacation I'd have never touched this game ever. The gameplay is very fun and quick and I enjoyed it while it lasted. Amazing conceptually and impressive for only 2 people working together to make this game.

The game is great though I was trying to play with my friend who also owns the game but it seems you can only play multiplayer on the same pc. I think if possible adding a feature where people could play together on different PCs would be a great addition. To be honest I'm begging you to put it in.
