Witch Hunt is a challenging horror themed hunting game that takes place in the 18th century. Main focus of the game is on exploration, non-linearity, and atmosphere. Witch Hunt features lite RPG elements in form of a financial system and a skill system. You play as a witch hunter who took the task of eliminating all evil that settled in the woods near the town of Bellville. To achieve your goals, you'll be able to use weapons, magic, and other tools that can be found and bought. Warning: Hunting requires patience and perseverance. If it's not your strongest qualities you may find this game to be very frustrating.

This is a brutal, challenging game. No forgiveness. However, something is enticing about it. It is an Indie game.
You play a witch hunter, tracking down various demons, zombies, and a central monster that has been causing deaths outside the proper and central town. Upgrades are available, but you must search long and hard for money/treasure. Money is scarce in the game, making you choose carefully the vendor items such as silver mullets, etc.
The atmosphere of this game is downright creepy. It appears to be winter as there are no leaves on the trees. You never know what is hidden right around the corner, causing you to react to strange sounds and murky visuals.
There is no music in the game, only creepy sound effects from the various creatures,/
The weapons you have are an old musket rifle, a handgun, and a saber-like sword.
While I don't recommend the game to just anybody, I do recommend it if you like puzzling FPS games that you can play late at night. :-)

Let me preface this review by saying, if you don't like the idea of spending 30 minutes looking for a monster only to hit it maybe twice before it runs and forces you to track it again, you probably won't like this game. I however appreciate the authentic feeling hunting that Witch Hunt provides. That along with the amazing classically spooky atmosphere and boatload of secrets and loot to find makes this a solid recommend from me. Proof that a game doesn't need to be a 10/10 cinematic masterpiece to be one worth playing.

I know everyone likes the hee hee haa haa reviews, and short ones, but I really liked this game and its charm, so I hope you will read.
In Witch Hunt, you fight the abominations of a twisted witch in the woods. A village in it's time of need asks upon you to slay the witch haunting their woods, and slaughtering their people. As a hunter you come equipped with a musket rifle, pistol, saber and various hunting instincts to fight through the sparing abominations.
This game has a unique style similar to that of the backrooms or better yet, a single player g-mod horror maps. That vibe alone was what kept me intrigued when there wasn't any fighting happening.
As you get lost in the forest looking for your single target, the atmosphere gets a hold of you, and than BOOM! A zombie from behind the trees! Better think quickly because you only have one chance to take it down, before the monster barrages you to death with attacks. While unforgiving as it can be, the game emphasizes to play smart and take your time, only than will it reward you with the ability to progress like you have any advantage.
There are many small secrets around the map that are fun to find, and a decent progression system that is extremely helpful if you are careful with your resources and are smart about when to extract.
The hideout/safe area of the map has interesting characters with not a whole lot to say, and I liked it that way. It feels like you are really in a foreign land. In an isolated village, why would anyone be excellent talkers anyway?
This game had an overall unique charm, that just cant be replicated nowadays, and that makes it very special. The horror is eerie, and shocking, the story is basic, but to the point, and the fighting is tense, yet at times sparing.
Takes about 6-7 hours to complete and the only gripe I had with the game, was the final boss feeling like a way to run the clock on you.
Still a whole lot of fun!

A great indie horror game that kind of falls apart with the very last boss.
But up until those last 15 minutes, I was given 4+ hours of perfect Halloween horror game atmosphere, tough gameplay, and a fun sandbox to hunt in. There're no side quests, no RPG elements, just you, your flintlocks, a big map full of monsters, and 4.5 bosses to hunt.
It's far from perfect and riddled with tiny, annoying choices, but for such a simple premise and cheap price (particularly now, $6 at the time of writing), this little game made by one man hits all the right notes when played in the right season. Highly recommended for a spooky Saturday Night.

The best fps horror I ever played. It has charming jank, incredible atmosphere and simple, but very satisfying gameplay loop. Please get it, you will not regret it.

Playing this gem again around Halloween 3 years later, it's still a nice little horror game. Not recommended for zoomers with ADHD, this is a slow-paced game.
