Wildbus It’s a Platformer game, but it’s not entirely. because in the game you can move both the X and Z axes, the game relies on getting new abilities to reach new areas to advance the plot, the ultimate goal is to reach the native land of light that is full of happiness, the background is the world after collapse, people get together for danger because of their interest and career, each character has its own native land of light. At the end of the journey, I hope that players can also find the native land of light in their hearts.
The game is aesthetically quite unique and has something that many indies lack, I recommend it and more now with this discount with which it ends its sale in steam.

Wildbus is wacky, zany and weird in all of the right ways. It takes full advantage of it's zany setting to full effect! A wasteland riddled with pandas, ninjas, skateboarders and more is just a slither of some of the crazy stuff going on in the game.
I definitely enjoyed Wildbus a lot more than what I was expecting. Looking at the store page I thought it looked decent as an indie game and was expecting to write it off as something that was decent but nothing too much more except maybe to recommend it to others who might be the slightest bit interested. The game did pleasantly surprise me in many ways varying from its content, gameplay, story and many more factors.
You play as a cool sunglasses wearing wasteland stroller who travels the unforgiving deserts in a bus. This bus also acts as the main form of offence and defence towards the enemies that plague it. One major compliment that I'll give is with regards to weapon variety, there's a lot of bizarre and creative weapons that can be attached to the top of your bus, like a freezer, a champagne gun, a fire breathing dragon and many more.
The game describes it's self as a beat-em-up and while there are definitely beat-em-up elements in the game I feel like they take more of a back seat towards the game's RPG elements, which for those of you that follow or know me will know I like RPGs which pleasantly surprised me entering since I was expecting something that was a lot more beat-em-up centered with just maybe the odd one or two pieces of RPG elements dotted about. There are bounties that you can pick up from bartenders throughout the wasteland which involves you tracking down enemies that are a little bit harder to beat than the normal (well as normal as this game gets) enemy variety but typically easier than a lot of the bosses you fight before being able to gain access to a new town. The combat is fun for the most part however it is at times frustrating which probably leads to my biggest problem with the game, the controls. This might be intentional due to the fact that you're in a bus but the controls seem pretty slippy and can be hard to navigate the bus towards where you want it to go. On top of that there isn't much method in determining if you're lined up with an enemy correctly as the game doesn't really do a good job in telling you if you're level with your enemy. The game tries to make up for this with firing 3 bullets at a time where one goes dead centre, and there's one above it and below it to give your gun a little bit of a bullet spread, but I still did find it frustrating at times especially in some of the fights that required some specific timing and I waited patiently only to find out I wasn't lined up correctly.
I love the amount of gameplay variety in the game. I don't think I ever came across more than 2 of each enemy type in the wasteland. Each enemy comes with its own method of combat and in some cases some require specific guns to take them out. For example there's an enemy maybe about half way across the world map that is flying and you can only take it out with a laser gun that you can buy from one of the stores, otherwise you'll just have to bolt it. As a result, no fight that you enter will ever be the same, you'll continuously have to fight off certain enemies with a different method to what you used to the last and in some cases you'll have to use the environment to your advantage with some great level design that the game has.
Overall, despite some issues with the controls and handling, I did enjoy my time with Wildbus and do recommend it to you if you're an RPG fan or if you're just remotely interested by what it is that you see on the store page. It won't disappoint.

This game is a timesink. No real penalty for death, just explore the apocalyptic wasteland in your Bus. Doing quests and fighting monsters, searching for treasures. A fascinatingly strange game.

Some like em weird. I know I do. Which is why I like Wildbus! This is a game about exploring a strange world with even stranger characters. The first boss is a shark wearing boxing gloves. That's the kind of game it is.
The combat is based on two weapons. A projectile based weapon in the top of the bus. And a melee weapon on the front of the bus. They're ok. Nothing too exciting. I mean they're weird but the combat isn't exciting. It gets a little better when you shoot the projectiles and then hit them with the melee weapon. It has interesting side effects. For example the camera will freeze the projectile in place.
The combat is a weakest part of the game, there's no way around it. The game also has respawning enemies. But you can drive by a lot of them if you want. So it can be annoying. The punishment for death is minimal too. This is a fairly casual game.
It's around a 4/5 for me. The strange stuff is so unique that it overrides my annoyances.

A prolonged war period has finally come to an end and the result of this is a wasteland with various mutant monsters and strange creatures between towns. Yet, these obstacles are not going to stand in your way as you are equipped with a bus that is armed with an array of odd weapons. As you journey across the wasteland in search of the mythical promised land you will recruit comrades, complete side quest, purchase upgrades, and take out bosses.
The bus is equipped with two weapon types; a firing one located at the top and a more close-range melee weapon at the front. For example, there is a toilet device that shoots out miniature poops and a boxing arm. While purchasing these new weapons from shop keepers is exciting since they are so wacky and weird, actually using them in combat is rather unsatisfying.
This is because of how cumbersome the bus is to maneuver. It often feels annoyingly difficult to dodge oncoming attacks from enemies in the big bus since the placement of bullets or projectiles in three-dimensional environments is difficult to pinpoint. There is a slow-mo power that definitely helps to alleviate this issue. But even so, dodging and attack still never really feels all that enjoyable.
Another negative is that the UI comes off a bit messy, as both keyboard and controller promotes are simultaneously displayed. There is also the finicky frame rate which typically fluctuates between 50-60 frames per second and is just generally unstable no matter which of the three visual settings you chose.
However, despite the rather clunky combat and technical issues I still did enjoy my time with Wildbus a fair amount. The biggest reasons for this are the upgrade system, art design, and the world layout. Again, there is an array of strange and odd weapons to buy at each different vendor when you first enter into a new town. But, there are also different bus’s skins that you can attempt to unlock through a variety of different side quests such as scoring goals against a supposedly pro-goalie. Furthermore, recruiting others to join in your journey is another neat upgrade. Each one comes with an additional benefit and it is just charming to have a variety of animals packed into one car.
Lastly, outside of these standard upgrades, you can find special items that change up your movement abilities along with other effects. This is what I enjoyed the most since about halfway through the title you reach a stopping point and have to figure out what other possible directions to explore in this limited space utilizing your new ability. This also goes hand in hand with the fact that you are encouraged to return to and explore past areas making good use of its small open world.
Overall, Wildbus is a creative title that suffers from rather clunky combat, unpolished UI, and an unsteady framerate. But if you are able to endure these issues then the exploration, upgrades, and map design make for a rather interesting and charming two to three-hour experience.

since first time i've seen its pixel art thought that looked funny just looking at it...
dev kindly provided me a key and, little by little, i'm appreciating his work (he's updating it daily!)
still hard, thou. but always enjoyed games where you keep asking yourself: "w.t.h. i'm doing??"
love the art, absolutely love that. the gameplay is still something kinda mysterious but the overall experience keep me at coming back for more.

In this video I take a look at Wildbus a retro style arcade beat'em-up/shooter.
This is one crazy game. Your fighting your enemies and jumping over things in you bus! It has a great retro arcade feel to it and appears to be quite well made. You can collect new weapons which get stored in your inventory where you can select your favorite. There is a large array of unique enemies and just as many NPC's to talk to. Initially I felt lost but after a small amount of trial and error I figured out the games mechanics and started to enjoy myself.
I think it's a well made, fun game and if your a fan of arcade style games you really should check it out. It has a crazy humor to it.
