WARRIORS ALL-STARS
A battle of heroes where everyone is the lead! The very first all-star title of Koei Tecmo! The rousing action essential to "Warriors" series is powered up with new elements, such as open scenarios and multiple endings! Impressive assembly of 30 characters backed up by the original voice actors, and action that combines both familiar traits of the original series and new exiting elements like “Musou Rush”. Furthermore, each character and their progression are drawn vividly, through special strengths and effects, known as “Hero Skills,” and the ways story and interactions change based on the battles they fight. Enjoy the epic story of collaboration of heroes that brakes the borders of diverse range of worlds! The gameplay is modeled after the hack-and-slash Warriors series, in which the player controls a single character to defeat enemies throughout a stage while trying to achieve a specific goal. In Warriors All-Stars.

I'm seeing a lot of hate for this game.
I feel like some of it is justified, but some is a bit unfair.
This game is fairly simplified to the point you can think it's a baby's first Koei Warriors game.
As some one who played from Dynasty warriors 4, I can assure you it's let complex and less polished.
If it none the less some brainless fun.
I see a number of people moaning about running around the map with no mount option.
As someone who played a lot of Warriors games, I want to make it clear, the running speed in this game is crazy, it's just about as fast as some of the fastest mount options in other games. If you don't believe me, boot one up and test it.
In terms of how repetitive this game is, dogs go woof, cats go meow, Koei Warriors games have tedious and repetitive quests across maps. If you want something innovative, DO NOT buy this game.
If you are down for some brainless action, it's a fun little game.
Now, on to the fun part, similar to the running speed, characters have unreasonably LARGE AOE moves, this makes getting to 1000 KO extra easy. If you haven't touched a Warriors game or haven't played one in a very long time, it's not a bad place to start.
I'd give it a 7 out of 10 due to the tedious quests. All in all, in terms of warriors game, it's not the best, but not the worst either.
Last point to add, I do not recommend this game at full price, but on a discount, it's not bad at all.

The game, while relatively simple, has a lot of exciting things going for it if you are a Tecmo or Koei fan. There are many series, such as Ninja Gaiden, Atelier, DoA, and many more, with characters to pick from. The game can be beaten in just a few hours, but going through each of your favorite characters can mean you can see how your favorite characters interact and interpret this strange world they have been transported to! If you aren't a big fan of any of the series or don't like pretty simple combat, this game may not be for you, but it is neat as a long-time Tecmo fan!

Lu Bu is teleported to a FurFest convention. Along the way, he meets a talking, jingoistic cat, an Irish weeb with the ability to have English voice-acting in a game exclusively voiced by Japanese VAs, easily forgettable characters from Japanese-exclusive games and female, scantily clad girls with questionably young ages. He and his newfound friends have to commit mass genocide against furries in order to save the world from complete darkness and destruction.
If you think I'm making this up, you'd be surprised.
I stole this review because it was funny.

All-Stars is a fun Warriors alternative loaded with all kinds of great Koei Tecmo characters, but the big problem is the size of the maps you're expected to fight on. While the levels are creative they are often times too big for the timed based objectives and you will be running marathons to make it to your destination in time.

I'm rating this positive because I will probably still play it from time to time, but I like most Warriors games more than this.
Most of the story is uninteresting, you're here almost entirely for the characters to have some interaction. There's a bit of that and I think their performance is on par with their normal appearances. They got William's voice actor back for this, and I think he's really entertaining. They kept his gimmick where he can speak English but everyone can still understand him.
There isn't a whole lot of variety to the missions, the feedback is scanty enough that you can very suddenly lose a mission if you aren't beelining it, and the equipment system seems very limited, which despite that you have to clean out inventory constantly. The way you get higher tier equipment is based on missions and these range from something you can achieve in five minutes to several hours of gameplay, and I didn't see a very substantial improvement in the higher tiers.
The Star based sub-leveling system is interesting and does make fights go quicker but it still hurts the experience when the majority of gameplay is replaying missions you've already beaten so you can work towards a slightly different ending fork, you should be able to continue where you left off in each of the three storylines without saving over the save file to carry over content.
The cast size is relatively small for this kind of game, which I get is likely because of the effort involved in the crossover and each character has a fair amount of voiced dialogue, but there is very little else to actually work towards. All of the alt costumes seem to be dlc, and none of them are representative of the original franchises, Sophie has like four outfits in her first game alone. Plachta's entire sub-system basically involves dress up. Other warriors games have this issue but they also tend towards being more engaging as a baseline.
On Steam the games I would recommend over this are One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 or 4 (With or without context these are entertaining), Dynasty Warriors 8, Warriors Orochi 4 and Berserk: Band of the Hawk. Samurai Warriors 4 is expected to make it on Steam with all DLC soon as well, and that's a good game. If you have a Switch and are willing to pay the Nintendo tax, both Zelda Hyrule Warriors games are excellent. The first includes the dlc packs from the other versions and the amount of content to work towards is absurd. All of these also have more mechanical nuance than All-Stars. I also think Switch has better versions of Pirate Warriors 3 and Dynasty Warriors 8, both are packaged with the dlc and PW3 just functions better.
I only recommend this one on sale if you want to see some of the characters interact, or have some non warriors characters you'd like to see interpreted in that sort of game.
Also, the amount of effort required to unlock Opoona is sinful. Bring Opoona to steam and I may forgive you for this slight.

Warriors All-Stars is an absolute blast for anyone who loves action games! This title brings together a fantastic lineup of characters from the Koei Tecmo universe, allowing you to pick from a diverse cast, each with their own special abilities. The fast-paced gameplay keeps things exciting, and the vibrant graphics make every battle visually stunning.
What’s really awesome about Warriors All-Stars is the variety of modes it offers. The catchy soundtrack adds to the thrill of the action, making every fight even more exhilarating. If you’re on the lookout for a game that’s full of fun, memorable characters, and nonstop excitement, Warriors All-Stars is definitely one to try!

I don't get why this game plays like a downgraded version of DW8 while being made like 5 years later. The combat system itself is not bad, but some of the stages are really poorly designed. Too much runaround happens and it's frustrating.
Still a good game for a long-time DW player. This game is more like a KOEI tribute fanmade game than a serious Warriors series game.
