You are viltnemda.
A retro PSX style era horror game
You’ve been called into the forest to investigate a wounded deer, but the forest is dark and all you have is a flashlight. Oh bother, what a Tuesday you’re having.
—
Viltnemda is a horror walking-sim experience with a retro artstyle
With your trusty flashlight, you must traverse through the dark forest to find the wounded deer and uncover the secrets of the forest.
- Flashlight mechanics that turns the flashlight on AND off!
- Possibly a deer
- So spooky the programmer won’t even play it
- A lot of trees
- like, a lot of trees
- Atmospheric audiodesign that resembles an actual forest
Viltnemda was developed over the course of 5 days for Brackeys Game jam 2022
Was also entered to participate in Norwegian Game Awards 2022.
This game would not be released on Steam without the help of Skeive Spillutviklere

I found a deer by a campfire and was then teleported into the trees. Not sure if that was the intended pathway, but I'll take it.

This game was too scary for me. I managed to face my fears and get to the end of the game, but then game got so scary that devs took me back to menu. The scariest game I've ever played...

Viltnemda is a short retro styled horror exploration game where you have been called into a dark forest to investigate a wounded deer with just a flashlight, but as you explore the forest, you will soon realize that there is much more waiting for you in the shadows. Its a very short spooky game with a really cool PSX artstyle that's worth recommending, only takes about 10 minutes to run through.

I used to live in a cabin with my dad, and this perfectly captures the feeling of wandering through the Norwegian forest at night, engulfed in pitch darkness, trying to see our house.

Viltnemda
Positives:
+ Made in Norway
+ Retro feel
+ Ok sounds and music
+ Creepy atmosphere
+ Achievements
+ Its free
Negatives:
- Almost no content
- Graphics looks unecessary pixelated and ugly
- Only 5 minutes of gameplay (not joking)
It is what it is, a small free demo of a game.
Its okay, nothing more.
Total Score: 5/10
