Edit
A routine sludge barge excursion is cut short when a mysterious missile critically damages VectorMan’s ship.
Vectorman escapes destruction and freefalls back to earth, landing on the outskirts of a seemingly abandoned research facility. As he begins to investigate the source of the missile, VectorMan discovers a mutant strain of insects that have begun to flourish in the research facility. Worse yet, the insects display destructive tendencies towards the planet and seem to be run by an unseen intelligence. VectorMan’s mission is clear: defeat the mutant insects and once again save the Earth from impending disaster.

It's a good game, but it feels a bit unpolished or rushed. I think the original game did everything better.
The worst part of this game, by far, is the level design, it's just kinda all over the place. Some levels are alright, some are downright annoying. Also, I feel like the music is less memorable in this one, but it's still filled with that cheesy 90's YM2612 synth beauty.
THE OPENING CUT SCENE, oh my god. That shit gets me every time; hands-down the best part of the game.
If you liked the first game, try it, you'll probably like it. It's certainly not a bad game, but it could use a Director's Cut version like Jon Burton did for Sonic 3D Blast. Since it's delisted on Steam now, you'll have to find some other way to play it anyways.
