Set in a far corner of space, Valfaris is a heavy metal infused 2D action-platformer and the next game from the team behind Unity Awards finalist, Slain: Back From Hell. Brutal combat. Deadly enemies. Stunning pixel art. Savage soundtrack. Get ready to rip the galaxy a new wormhole. After mysteriously vanishing from galactic charts, the fortress of Valfaris has suddenly reappeared in the orbit of a dying sun. Once a self-contained paradise, the grandiose citadel now plays host to an ever-growing darkness. Therion, a fearless and proud son of Valfaris, returns to his home to uncover the truth of its doomed fate and to challenge the arcane evil at its very heart.

only get into this game if you’re skilled, it can humble you real quick. so far, the level design is the best part, and the art style is also really cool. A dodge or dash mechanic would be appreciated. I’m almost 7 hours into the game and have finished 65% of it… let’s see how it goes; it’s already taking a toll on my brain.
PS: I've beaten the game and i have same views on it, get it on steam sale for 85 INR you won't regret, awesome game.

Incredible variety for a game like this. The art is fantastic, killing stuff is fun. Just a solid game.

The weapon and level designs are awesome. The game is challenging, but it isn't overly hard. Because you have unlimited lives and the game is generous with checkpoints.
But, if you upgrade the wrong weapon, the game can become very difficult. The weapons that are worth upgrading are:
Melee Weapon
- Jelly Whip
- Leg of Arach
- Bathoryn
Primary Weapon
-Vroll's Sidearm
- Therion's Call
Destroyer
-Envoy of Destruction (I think Bringer of Mayhem is better)
- Bringer of Mayhem
- Vroll's Fist (you'll get this in NG+)

A great epic game that i reccomend with 100% confidence, with hot music and gameplay. Enjoyed progression system and it's difficulty, which can be overcome and doesn't make you angry because of it's fairness.
if i knew about this game earlier - i guess i would choose it instead of Blasphemous (don't want to say the last game is worthless) but this one is closer to my spirit.
9/10 only because of simple story - but it's 100% fit.

Valfaris is a Singleplayer-Run and gun with some cool (optional) exploration elements. The unique artstyle and the great 2.5D sprites work great in combination with the chugging Metal-Riffs.
While this doesn't feel like a classic arcade game like Metal Slug or Contra it is a fun and very challenging experience.
Already hyped for Mecha Therion!

I love this game. It's moderately difficult until you get the hang of it.
First run can take up to 7 hours but once you get good at it, it's a casual 2-hour run even in the Full Metal Mode.
And having spent 90 hours in a 2 hour game probably says something about my opinion about it)
The game is a banger. Headbanger.
Shame Mecha Therion didn't get enough love from the community.

As a metalhead, the art and music were great. As a gamer, there's a lot of bad stuff here - being blinded by particles at critical moments, off-screen shenanigans, unclear hit boxes, memorizing events to get positioned right ahead of time, and checkpoints that are way too far apart toward the end of the game.
