Much better than the third game, but after all, nothing beats Trine 2 for me, but personally really good experience and progress after the third game.

I can't recommend this game enough. A true classic and work of art. Game play is superb, the graphics are beautiful, and the vocals and sound track are fantastic. As a co-op puzzle solver, it might be the best experience I've ever had. The puzzles are not a brain strain, but are just fun. The boss enemies are easily handled with team work. I can attest that this game is geezer friendly. A delight for all ages.

The 4th title from our beloved franchise is just as beautiful as the other Trine games with improvements in graphics and puzzles, this time a return to the roots of the series. I like the 2.5D approach and style, it feels more familiar and natural for this kind of game. This kind of format allows rich backgrounds and intricate level designs but also keeps the game simple and easy to navigate.
I hate puzzles and this is where you'll spend most of the time , utilizing physics based interaction and character specific skill there is also times where you need to switch between characters and experiment with different strategies.
I haven't tried the cooperative mode yet, because i didn't find a partner to play with me but single player experience was rich and rewarding. It was a stimulating adventure to pass certain puzzles and unlock new leves but it was worth my time and patience.
With a fairy tale aesthetic and beautiful layered backgrounds the game offers incredible amount of details and a perfect game for the screenshot hunters..
The hidden areas and collectibles covers the exploration part of the game.. rewarding curiosity with treasure chests, lore and background stories of course if you solve the puzzles to reach them.
In conclusion Trine 4 achieves originality by combining elements from earlier games with innovative ways of puzzle solving, a fresh but familiar experience with a decent narrative and unique charm.
For me it was the same magical and beautiful indie game, i'm looking forward to find more secrets ,maybe play co-op in the future..

If this game is CO-OP then:
Zoya The Thief is C
Pontius The Knight is O
Amedeus The Wizard is OP by itself.
I mean OP (over-powered) as well

A huge rebound from Trine 3 and the game's more polished than 1/2 ever was. The skill tree/points are back and so is the length of the levels. The puzzles are a bit too rigid for the sake of polish, but in the end you can still bulls*** your way through puzzles so it's not so bad. You lose a bit of the free form overpoweredness from games 1 and 2 but gain a lot of smoothness in return. Some skills from Trine 3 even return, which is great because it was one of it's redeeming features. The graphics still go strong though it's becoming a bit ubiquitous now with current day graphics. Combat is much improved as well though you are boxed in to a narrow section every time with lots of little platforms where you can accidentally ledge hand off of. The biggest upgrade is probably the boss fights. There's multiple and are puzzle-esque, they're done very well.

Trine 4 is a decent game, but I can only recommend it to get acquainted with the series.
The graphics are still wonderful, but the plot and fascination with the PHYSICS of puzzles remained somewhere with the developers of 1-2 parts. Without love, they were riveted)))
There are a lot of mistakes like this, things fly apart with conditional physics, there is no variability in puzzles.
It is clear that it is easier to develop the puzzles themselves, but after the first parts it feels like they have been deceived.
Logically, it is also a madhouse - the flower always grows not in the place of watering the seedling (it did not happen before). All three characters pull themselves up like acrobats by grabbing the edge of the sheet (oh, and I suffered with them before), there are a lot of cheat bars wherever they get, plus freezing-fixing Zoya of any swing in any position.
Summary: the plot and the raisin of the series were clearly saved, which is slightly sad. The first two parts had a meditative super cocktail of graphics and plot puzzles, I was thrilled.
And this part is good, but after the first two months, the recipe for success was replaced with butter with margarine and the rest of the ingredients as well.
