The sun has died, forcing mankind to retreat towards what little heat remains beneath the planet's surface. Humanity's last bastion, Brimstone, is a city literally divided into upper and lower classes, both controlled by the all-powerful Raven Corporation. Raven Corp also controls the city's breathable air, with the wealthy Upper City getting far more than its fair share… Young Valerie Bennett has just passed the test to become a Traverser; a new kind of peacekeeper with the ability to travel between the Upper and Lower cities of Brimstone. Join her on a mission to reveal Raven Corp's sinister secrets, uncover years of lies and propaganda, and discover the most dangerous thing in all of Brimstone: the truth.

The atmosphere and world building in the game are the real strength of the game.
The game also mixes genre with a little platforming, a lot of puzzle and exploration and quite a bit of secret hunting in a way that might not be entirely successful for those who only like one of some of these genres but that I enjoyed thoroughly for diversity alone.
I didn't find the controls that much of a miss although I had to use a third party app to map the controls to my gamepad so maybe that helped.
The story does leave you wanting more and I really wish there had been a sequel but that's the only thing I wish I could change about the game.

This was a joyful little steampunk game that can be knocked out over the weekend. While occasionally the controls got a bit frustrating (the octopus scene in the trailer being the worst of it), ultimately, this was a rewarding 7-ish hours of gaming in a unique little world. It would've made a great Burton Claymation film too.
