Transport Fever is a railroad-focused tycoon game. Players start in 1850 and build up a thriving transport company. As an emerging transport tycoon, the player constructs stations, airports, harbors and makes money by connecting areas requiring transport services.
Construct complex road-rail-water-air networks in the endless game and experience more than 150 year of transportation history. Fulfill the people’s needs and watch cities evolve dynamically. Supply industries with freight, develop complete cargo chains and enable economic growth. Build up a transport empire!
Master challenges and get entertained in the campaign game mode. Two campaigns consisting of a multitude of missions with increasing difficulty can be tackled. Missions of the American and the European campaign tell the historical context of the 19th and 20th century and offer a wide range of realworld transportation challenges.

I enjoy the game play as it is just relaxing. I run some mods in the game to assist with "easy times" but then I call it game enhancements.
I love building railroads between towns, building an economy and making decisions as the "game chief in charge of all things".
I actually get to favour different towns and vehicles in this little realm and just enjoy the different things that you can do (and get away with).
I love experience different ideas and control outcomes (or try to)
As a single player game stratergy game I love it. Play it offline is cool when we loose out internet connection or just want to do things my way.
I am not one for high tech or get upset about certain little bugs in the game.
For me this has been one of the best investments for a single player game I have ever made.
I like it, hours and hours of fun so far, ( 103 hours ), and still not bored.
I am 61 years old and just love the slow pace that you can put the game into. Playing MMO's on line is hard for me as other players just take it way to fast for my liking and having to pay for extra things or monthly subscriptions isnt for me now.
I like how steam manages the game and my library.
Over all I am 100% satisfied, as I play it how I like, when I like, and just save my games and they are there months latter if I havent played in a while.
All I can say is , Enjoy the game , put in and you will get the enjoyment back,
There is lots and lots of help on the internet with mods, help and others in the community.

It's difficult to posthumously write a review of Transport Fever.
I've got 174 hours on record. It's safe to say I played the ever-loving hell out of it. The mod scene is fantastic, the game is relatively easy to get in to if you watch a few YouTube tutorials (which feels like excuse-making but let's be real: even stuff like Sea of Thieves requires going to not-official tutorial content to truly enjoy now).
But then Transport Fever 2 exists. It's prettier, bigger, has little bit more of a challenge bite, better UI. Why bother with Transport Fever 1? If you're an old hand and transport network sims you'll probably get over the hump of not having much money early in the lifespan of whatever free play map you've loaded up. By that point you're just upgrading everything to the best possible end-game vehicle and playing toy trains by slinging lines everywhere for funsies.
I recommend starting with this if you haven't touched 2. It's lightyears better than Train Fever, but Transport Fever 2's quality almost requires you to have cared about the first one.

I recommend this game!!
So I saw the 2nd game being advertised on a few different sites and I loved the look of it, so I went to look and it wasn't released yet, but this one was and it was on special offer! So I bought it and I'm so glad I did!
This game has a bit of a steep learning curve, please remember that whilst playing! Also try not to just do what the campaign missions tell you! For example, the 2nd Europe mission it never tells you to use the tool factory, but I recommend using it and transporting tools to all towns to maximise profits, otherwise you will go bankrupt!
This game is brilliant if you like strategy games such as Stronghold, Rollercoaster Tycoon, Theme Hospital/Two Point Hospital, Parcitect and many more! It is a little harder to get into, but I recommend giving yourself a good 3 or 4 hours before writing this game off!
The game simply shows you which lines are making money, and which are losing money, the 2nd game doesn’t do this so well but it does still have this feature. The game really makes you think about every little thing as sometimes you won't have enough vehicles to move good, or to many! And you may need several lines to link to deliver 1 product! This can get especially difficult when you are trying to name each line!
I still prefer this over the 2nd one, I have not tried Freeplay on this game as of yet, as I have only just completed the Europe and American campaign after 52 hours, I've bought the 2nd one to complete those missions too. I much prefer the UI on this to the 2nd one, and the whole way this game feels even if the 2nd one does look better! Also, if you're considering buying this game, check out the Steam Workshop for some of the items you can download including freight by air, curved train station, new vehicles and so much more!

A good, classic transportation micro-management, business-management simulator. A great sandbox experience overall.
Campaign with well narrated descriptions are just an added bonus at this point. You can sink innumerable hours in the campaign itself and then a lot more playing your own tailor made sandbox experiences.
Gives you a good taste of successes and failures in transportation business.
At the time of writing this review, Transport Fever 2 is already out, yet this title is still worth the campaign experience.
Very reasonably priced, worth it. And with sale, it's a steal for the money.
My rating: 8/10

TLDR: Good game with some economy elements.
I played some time and I was hooked. It is good for on/off sessions and a plethera of mods help to flesh out the game even more. I was part of the closed beta and the team behind it were keen on fixing bugs and helping us out. It may be taxing for older PCs but that's to be expected.
In my honest opinion it is deeper than TF2 and has some aspects which keeps you on the edge. Fine tuning your network and see it collapse may be frustrating. But in the end, when you get a good running economy, you can pat on your sholder.
A good buy in a sale for sure. TF2 also has its charm, but I stay here for some more time. It is still fun enough for me.

addicting game;
If you are new to this, try Transport Fever 2 instead, as it improved a lot; this one is still pretty good (if you have a low budget or low-spec pc) if you want to try the game basics.

The good: The game is intuitive, controls are good, graphics are nice and logic is present in most things. It is a great management simulation game with very good improvements compared to its predecessors (and we're talking about giants on this genre). If you grab this on sale, it's ridiculously cheap. The game is worth the full price. Although "transport" is on the name, this could be called "train fever 2". After all ,we all know you're here for the trains.
The bad: When playing a long game, it becomes somewhat annoying replacing every single line's vehicles. I wish there was a button that can replace all X vehicles to all Y vehicles. Also, regarding catchment areas, the game is somewhat misleading.
The ugly: Once you figure out there are some things that let you transport both ways (oil-fuel, livestock-food) the game becomes incredibly easy even on hard mode. As a result, replayability is not that great even though I did spend some 200 hours.
Definitely recommended: Great management sim/tycoon game, 9/10
