Member "The Indie Game Collective" First of all thank you for Sharing the key with us ! For a 2D side-scrolling adventure game, your point of view is rather unique as well. It almost feels as if you are watching a school play, which doesn’t bother at all. There are different stages to concur and your settings will adjust accordingly There’s also some more immersion when enemies are effectively trying to harm you, even though those moments are pretty scarce. The only downside to The Trance is how we completed it in under Four hours. The entire game is a rather lonely experience. Many are calling it a meditative experience that you kind of just fall into a trance and complete! and I highly recommend this game !!

Hey I’m Corthos and I’m a member of The Indie Game Collective I’ve played this game a bit ago and I wanted to give my thoughts on it. I’m not going to copy and paste my script either so if you want my full thoughts watch my video on it.
For me the best part about the game is the graphics. The graphics are depressing and I like it. It’s gloomy areas with little to no color fits this game a lot more than filling the game with bright colors would not work. The muted color filter change for each level is good enough. On top of that the concept of the game is great, but execution needs a bit of help.
However I’m the type likes to focus on the gameplay elements the most and I have to say while in concept the game is simple with its controls, the game’s difficulty all over the place. The combat works as intended including all the upgrades you get, but fighting the bosses can get annoying when you realize sometimes they do not target you, they attack in general. Confused? Let me try to convey it to you the best way I can. The third boss flies on a carpet and throws daggers and dashes toward you. This boss is likely to float around throwing daggers in a way that won’t endanger you at all and when the boss dashes to you, eventually, it’s easy to dodge. Without fixing/modifying that boss it’s the easiest one… if you play passively.
At the same time the first puzzle is really hard to do. To fix this just add a play back machine so the player can hear what they need to do to match the tones. The other puzzles are easy enough to figure out what you need to do to solve it.
Lastly I do want to give my opinion on the HP regen… it sucks. The game would do better if you had limited pots. Think about it. What is stopping you from doing nothing or running away to get back to full health. In the platforming sections of the levels, if I didn’t feel like doing hard portions I just take the damage and then heal it off. In the boss sections if I am about to die I just run away and heal. I don’t think there is any real danger from dying if you play passively. I believe the game should have one refillable health pot and no health regeneration. This change would mistakes punishing and would force me and other players to get good. You can make hp regen work, but in the way this game is designed it doesn’t.
Anyway I think the game was fun despite its issues. It’s only $5 the experience I had matched the price so it wasn’t a waste. I’d say try it! If this review wasn’t enough you can look at my video for this game, it will tell you a little bit more.

Trance is a challenging adventure platformer that presents the platform elements and the atmosphere in a good way. Its story is told in a simple and pleasant way. It includes a few but nice puzzles. It has impressive and beautiful ideas but I felt that the combat mechanics were weak and boring. Some of the attacks and the movements of the bosses we encountered seriously disrupt the flow of the game and some improvements are needed to make the game more challenging in terms of the damage that character taken. On the other hand, I think the shield skill we reach in the later stages should have a more humane usage time. The game's average duration is probably not as long as the time I spent. Experienced and skilled gamers of the genre will probably finish the whole story in a short while. Gamepad support is at a good level as far as I experience. Apart from these, even though I finished the final fight a few times, unfortunately, every time I tried to get to the text-based final scene, an error occured and I couldn't get to the scene where the text is located. To see the final scene, I had to watch a video prepared by ChochKlah who I know from the reviews here. All in all, Trance is a game that does many things well and has beautiful ideas but in terms of mechanics, it needs some development. Although the story is not told detailed, I can easily talk that I followed the story with interest and the world created pulled me in. I think Pantoy Games has a good vision and I am looking forward to seeing their new works in the future.

Quite challenging but superb nonetheless!
