Story overview:

A day without playing this game feels like hell. If I have to choose only one game to play for the rest of my life, it would be this game. I would pick this game too in my next life. If I ever lost my memory, I will still pick this game as my favourite video game. I love everything in this game and I would buy this game on other platforms as well. This game is very flexible to play with as you can play it as long as you want, even for just 3 minutes if you don't have that much free time, or up to 3 decades if you live that long.
The concept, the flashy combats, the light story that wouldn't take your entire week to begin a battle, all handsome playable characters, and some lighthearted cut scenes are the reason why I am into this game. I would like to thank everyone in my life for this game, it is such an honour to be born in the generation where I can experience this game.
This game has also strengthen the bond of me with my family as we will talk about this game to keep in touch. This game is not just a part of my life, but it is my life. Besides that, I have also bought the nendoroids of the characters in this game. I have 7 of Mikazuki Munechika's nendoroids along with other characters nendoroids including Swacchao version, standard version and other variations, for example, Yamanbagiri Kunihiro, Ichigo Hitofuri and Hachisuka Kotetsu. I am still looking for more other Touken Ranbu character nendoroids too. I also watched the anime.
I might have to use money to buy this game but this game has saved my money as it helps me to reduce my shopping addiction as I will feel like having to come home early after work to play this game instead of shopping at the mall. I am also struggling with my mental health but this game helps me to relax and forget all negative sides in life. As a result, I can live my life happily because this game exists.
This game might not be made for me but I believe that I am born for this game. In conclusion, this game just saved my entire life.

I beat the game and I must say this game is very well designed and the missions aren't hard as balls lol. The story is well made and very sad ending imo. It made me almost cry when the ending was over. For what it's worth it does the job and playtime will be spent enjoying the game

i have about 90+ hours sunk into this game on the switch version, so my hours on steam are not representative on how long i've actually played this game.
if you're a fan of the warriors titles for the gameplay is not for you, as many users have indicated. this story is highly dependent upon knowledge of the parent franchise, touken ranbu, of which there is no shortage of media for, i highly recommend it if you like anime sword boys and historical fiction. though i haven't quite completed the main campign on the switch version, it hasn't disappointed me yet, even if it's not particularly outstanding or inventive. it's nice a cosy; a good relaxing game to turn my brain off after a long day at work.
that being said, as a non-warriors fan, i would recommend this game to other non-warriors fans if they ever want to pick up a warriors title without the stress of learning warriors controls. it's a very pretty game, the designs translated to 3d are so lovely, and i don't think i'd change anything in this game based on what it does. dlc is purely cosmetic and not necessary; if you want to see the touken danshi in comfortable lounge clothes, i'd recommend it, but otherwise it's not really interesting.
overall, as someone who's been here for at least 5 years, i'd definitely recommend this game if you don't like warriors games and want something pretty to look at. it's a warriors game made for non-warriors fans, plain and simple.

Great intro to musou games and Touken Ranbu. Took some time to get into though.
The usual mush through hordes of fairly stationary enemies but it gets harder (not that hard) as you progress.
You're overwhelmed at the start with a bunch of characters who you have no idea who they are, but then you focus in on set teams and this is where I really like watching the character development of each of them.
Each character has their own sort of 'play style' which, is basically button mashing half the time but when you unlock new techniques things get more interesting. Characters pretty much wield katana except for the odd naginata and dagger here and there.
Music is amazing. Favourite part of the game really. Really good loops of traditional Japanese music. I wish there were more thematic pieces though for stages or characters. I couldn't hum you the 'Touken Ranbu theme' or any characters theme off the top of my head.
Overall, really enjoy it. Character designs are awesome and the animations are pretty smooth too

I think the price point is a bit egregious (but I got it on sale). I've been a touken ranbu fan for about 10 years and I assume this sale is because of the recent anniversary. I don't think I would've bought this game otherwise. there are no women in this game but i do not care about that (touken ranbu originally has no female characters anyway)
Having played other muso/warriors games in the past I did expect this one to be somewhat simpler but it was a lot easier than I thought it would be. It's good if you haven't played a muso/warriors game before but if you want a true warriors experience I would not get this one. The maps are quite small, and the missions are all under 10 mins. I think for it's not worth it if you are a warriors fan, especially at a 60 dollar price point. Please get this on sale now during the 10th anniversary while you still can </3
HOWEVER, the story is charming, the animations are really nice and the way each sword has their own unique playstyle i do enjoy. the minigames are cute and enjoyable as well (i like the tea and onigiri ones personally.) I just started so I can't say in detail much about it but these are just my two cents as both a tkrb fan and a warriors fan.
