Tinseltown Tycoon
Take your seat behind the big executive desk and lead your studio to dominate the film industry. Or lead it to financial ruin. As the head of your own movie production studio you will have full control over its operations. Make smart decisions, and smart connections, and prove that you are the business savant you always claimed to be.
Tinseltown Tycoon is a management and simulation game that puts you in charge of a small, unimportant film production studio. As the studio head it falls on you to:
- Develop and refine scripts that can later be used in your movies
- Find and hire the best actors and directors for your productions
- Strike distribution deals to release your films in theaters, on streaming services, and on television
- Hire staff to improve the quality of your productions
- Acquire film rights to existing stories and news events
- Manage crew and filming locations to fit the needs of your project
- Secure financing to help cover your production costs
- Seek awards for your movies
- React to news events that affect the popularity of certain genres
- Network with other people in the industry to find opportunities that might not otherwise be available to you
- Manage your operating costs and cash flow
- Compete with other, more established, studios in the industry
- Deal with disagreements and conflicts between your employees
- And more!
Play Tinseltown Tycoon today and become a successful studio executive without all the hassle of actually going outside!

Actually I had a jolly good time playing this, much more than I thought. Infact I have had more play time on this than the recently launched Film Maker Tycoon at 1/5th of the price!
Ideally the game could be expanded to include more content making it more playable and interesting because as it stands it is relatively easy to succeed.
If the theme appeals and your into Tycoon style games it is a fair price for what it is, there is so much room for growth on this game lets hope the developer expands it further.

This game is fun. Not sure why it has any bad reviews. It is cool starting your studio and trying to develop hits. Hoping they add more content in the future. Would be nice to hire camera and sound crews like you can hire directors. maybe purchase more stuff on your set to make your movies better. Maybe purchase offices for your writers to make them write better.

If you're looking for a simple, fun movie production game, then I'd say go and buy this. It seems like there are a few updates needed, mainly there seems to be a glitch that when you put movies in theatres, you don't get the 70%, just the initial funding. There are a few other issues that need fixing, but I'm enjoying it so far!

Fun game, really enjoying it. A couple of tweaks would make it more fun like naming the films they are quite generic and are are often repeated like if you buy a script I get it but renaming bought scripts and when you develop your own it would be cool to name your own projects. That's a little thing that would help my gaming experience and I'd love there to be other awards other then what they have instead of the oscars. Maybe the games own golden raspberries. would be a nice tough. Certainly could be better but overall a good little game.
So...it appears you can't more then one save file and I can't delete the save file in game. I was playing a quick test game and now I want to start again and do some things I've thought of but I start new game and loads up the one I was playing and I can't delete. Really?

Great Movie Studio Tycoon game. Does a great job creating movies and with the business/distribution side. A very enjoyable and addictive game.
The game never crashed, but it does have an issue with Saved games. If you save relatively early in the game you can reload it no problem. If you save later in the game (after 8 years or so) it won't re-load your game.
It's a big issue, but the developer has done a great job making the game, and it is well worth the money.

Do you know what? This is actually really solid. It's a text based management game so it won't be for everyone. But I work in film and this is a surprisingly accurate (if very simple) portrayal of the business. My only issue (beyond one or two bugs) is that there isn't really an endgame of any kind, you just... keep going into the future, stacking up billions and billions of dollars. Which would be great in real life, if it was that easy. But it's an interesting game and solid work from the dev, and surprisingly addictive. I wish there was an ending, hopefully one will be brought in at some point.

There are some relatively minor bugs and the interface is very simple, but the game is addictive and enjoyable to play. I'll get my money's worth out of it before I'm done, and you likely will too.
Tinseltown Tycoon is like Hollywood Mogul if you ever played that, except you can't customize your movies and you can't list all of the actors, whatever, in the database and select one from the entire list for a film your making. Instead you get a list of 5 applicants for a movie role and how good they are depends on your reputation, movie budget, and the skill of the casting director. However, there is a database of actors and everything being maintained, since you'll see the same names and the same skills come up as you recruit - it's just that that data isn't readily visible.
It's also pretty easy. There was one sticky period where I was making my first large movie and I got a lot of unlucky random events, but other than that I've never felt like I was in any danger of losing the game.
Anyway, if you liked Hollywood Mogul then you'll like this. It's not too hardcore, just a way to just chill out and pass some time.
