Thrillville™: Off the Rails lives up to its name with 20 death-defying rides so outrageous, they inspire the same word from every park visitor who sees them: “WHOA!” Players build these incredible “WHOA Coasters” to leap from one track to another, launch through the air like cannonballs, blast through a burning ring of fire and more.
But the new fun doesn’t stop there. Off the Rails features 34 playable multiplayer minigames, 15 all-new theme areas, over 40 thrill rides, a new story that ties together more than 100 missions, and social interaction with park guests that’s better than ever. The in-depth conversations both advance the plot and suggest better ways to manage the park. But is every guest to be trusted?
- Experience the visceral fun of interacting with a theme park you create.
- Build and ride your own creations, talk and joke with all your guests, and play dozens of minigames.
- Visit 15 themed areas, like Battleville, Winterville, Spaceville and Aeroville, all spread throughout five new parks.
- Create 20 death-defying WHOA Coasters such as:
- Hotrod Stunt – A nitro boost propels a car across a broken track.
- Pendulizer – A giant arm grabs the car just before a gap in the track, whips it around in a full circle, then sets it down on the other side.
- Escape Drop – The track holds the car stationary as it lifts itself from level ground to a full 90-degree drop. Then it lets go.
- Distinguish your rides even more with enhanced customization options. Attach animatronics, flowers and flaming hoops to all of your coasters and rides.
- Play 34 minigames – 14 new, 20 returning from the original Thrillville but with new levels.

I played this on PS2 back in the day, and trying it again on PC feels surprisingly familiar—in a good way. The game’s definitely dated, but the charm is still there. It’s the same mix of park management, oddball mini-games, and coaster building that made it so easy to sink time into as a kid.
The PS2 version was where I first learned how fun (and ridiculous) the coaster tools could be, and that part holds up better than expected. The mini-games are still simple, but they’re quick and fun enough to break up the pacing. Running around the park as a character instead of managing everything from a menu still gives the game a unique feel compared to other theme park sims.
It’s not modern, it’s not polished, and it shows its age everywhere—but honestly, that’s part of why it still works. If you played it years ago, this version is a solid way to revisit it without pretending it was something deeper than it is. Fun, light, and exactly what I remember.

If you're worried that it's outdated compared to Planet Coaster and others in the genre, the answer is both yes, and no. The minigames make it worth it alone. You will have so much fun running around trying out all the activities the game has to offer. Even the food stalls are a minigame. The fact that there are about over 50 minigames in as many genres as there are and MOST of them are at least decent is pretty impressive. The Bandito Chinchilla beat 'em is almost a whole small indie game on its own. Thrillville to me felt closer to something like Yakuza more than it did a tycoon game.
It's really good.

Thrillville: Off the Rails is pure nostalgia for me, I played it a ton back when I was a kid. Building crazy coasters and messing around with the mini-games is still just as fun. Playing it again on PC is great and honestly brings back so many memories. It’s goofy, simple, and just a good time.

Years ago I Thrillville (The game before this one) as a Christmas present. I have so many fond memories of that game. This really took me back down memory lane and reignited the little kid in me. It truly is a fun game with many fun mechanics to dive into.
