About the GameThe Wicked Days is an action-packed shooter set in a godforsaken wilderness in a small town of Beavercity. Inexplicable events will be echoes of the difficult past. Why is everyone against you? Arm yourself to the teeth, jump in a car and move out to explore a dangerous world in search of answers.

Longread Lore
In the beginning of the Vietnam War, Marvin Todds’ squad was assigned a special mission to escort a civilian to the alleged UFO crash site. The civilian being a government bioengineer by the name Emmerich von Monsardo.
But as soon as they arrived at the destination, a bright sphere of expanding light blinded everyone.
When Marvin regained his consciousness, the squad, along with the civilian, was on their way to the base. No one could remember what happened at the facility. The incident was quickly hushed up.
However, in time each of the squad members discovered a supernatural ability – strength, speed or endurance would reach a new level. They could jump over rivers, run faster than cars and break down trees with their bare hands with little effort.
15 years later
Retired Colonel Marvin Todds, spent his quiet evenings in the backyard of his cozy house, sitting in an armchair, chaotically switching TV channels. The growing feeling that something was wrong had not left him for the last few years. Deciding to think about it more, he went to shoot bottles.
Marvin had hardly put the pistol in the holster, when he heard the rumble of a falling plane diving straight towards him onto his yard.
“What the hell is going on here ?!” – the old man had just the time to say, as right in front of him out of nowhere materialised the first monster. The same kind of monster from trashy films that helped Marvin to drown out flashbacks before bedtime.
Only this time it was not a dream – this was the world of The Wicked Days…

This is the second game created by Alien Intelligence UAB who entered the world of Steam with Post Scriptum CTG a rather nice Tabletop game. So how are they doing with this game?
Gameplay / Story
Could be a fever dream, but it could be therefore real, so better kill everyone just in case it is real.
How does it come that all I'm doing is minding my business and someone yet again slaps me with a game and asks me to play it. And I did, like the little girl desiring to get moms makeup and nail polish, I will play games until the dawn of zombies.
So what is this game? Well, it's run and gun! You play Old Jenkins (not his true name) Who tries to breed with some Chickens (I'm lying here) and forgot to take his pills, so everything looks like living in hell. If you are feeling a bit confused and can't figure out what I'm trying to tell you, welcome to the game. This is wicked days. It's a confusing game, at first you fight Chainsaw Dave and zombies and then out of nothing you fight the Military and superhuman. I'm actually not sure what happens in this game. It's shooting and killing and getting new weapons because you will run out of ammo. Well that's the actual game, the weapons feel different, but the story is linear and in 1 part unfair due to the one hit kill guys you have to fight against. Besides this the game is decent, the control feels fluid and driving is fun, but at the current state there is not much to do.

Conclusion/ Who will enjoy the game?
The Wicked Days offers a nice game with a great idea for the top-down shooter. This game is all about shooting, and that's pretty much a lot of fun.
So who will enjoy this game? Do you like Top-down shooters with a humor based gameplay? Are you tired of aliens and machines you have to fight against? Well, in that case, this is your game.

This game might have a rocky start but is equally as promising but let me start at the beginning!
The Wicked Days is a top down zombie shooter by a wonderful Belarusian dev team. They have been inspired by 80‘s horror movies and action movies and jam packed their little game with references. The writing and story are really funny and well put together.
The gameplay is fluid and has good combat mechanics and some solid foundations. I personally miss some stronger hit indicators as I have personally issues seeing when I am hit. Another problem I had was with enemies under trees or when they were in shadows they were somewhat hard to see. Other than that the game works as intended.
It has a few bugs, as it is tradition in early access but I am pretty sure the devs already working on fixing them.
All in all a very solid recommendation from the orc! If you want a new exciting top down shooter, this is the game to look out for!

I was surprised by the "Gloss" of this game thinking it would be cheap...I WAS SO VERY WRONG. This is a very fun game and I look forward to the finished product. Movement is clean, current weapon selection is fun. Hope to see a "Swimming" skill added in the future.

Yes, there are some pesky little bugs but nothing game-breaking or ungodly.
Gameplay is interesting and intuitive the game is challenging, which is another positve thing.
I will check this game again :D

Hey this is game is super promising. Is it normal though that the game stops after the meeting with Crunch, before he brings us to the swamps? The game shuts down here for me so I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing this and if it's normal, since the game isn't finished. Thanks!

This game concept is one of the coolest stuff out there. Looking forward to the end result. The developers are really on to something great. Good luck in working on the game devs.

Pros: Super fun game with great animation. Pretty good for an early access game. Lots of map to explore if you go off on your own not to follow the quests.
Cons: finished the early access game within 45 minutes
Can't wait to see what becomes of it.
