The Walking Dead is a five-part game series set in the same universe as Robert Kirkman’s award-winning comic book series. グラフィックがトゥーン調なので2025年現在でもあまり見劣りしません。建造物なども要点を抑えた表現で良い雰囲気です。
有志による日本語化MODのおかげもあり、ストーリーは理解しやすく、キャラ魅力的で、かつ予想のつかない展開も起こり、非常に魅力的です。
選択肢は、主人公がその場で起きた事やこの先の歩み方に対してどな考え、姿勢で臨むかが主で、それがストーリー展開や仲間との関係に影響を及ぼします。セーブデータ引継ぎで次の作品でも反映されます。「どちらを助けるか」の2択もありますが、そんなに多くはないと思いました。
シーンの合間にゲーム操作が入る感じで、ストーリーへの没入感が切れずテンポが良いです。
昨今のゲームと比べるとボリュームが少ない様にみえますが、本作だけでもきちんと完結がつけられた良くまとまったストーリー（このシリーズは「次のシーズンに続く」的な表現が少ない）なのでまずは遊んでみるのをおすすめします。
あと、自環境ではゲームパッドを認識しないというトラブルでだいぶ悩みましたが、２つ接続していたゲームパッドのうち一つのデバイスを削除したら認識する様になりました。
