Lovecraft, the story features many of his best-known creations and more. Players will see the world through the eyes of Andrew, a father in search of his lost daughter. Presented with a Lovecraftian style, As players dive deeper and deeper into the mystery, they’ll face overwhelming odds, Andrew’s moments that will make you question his sanity, and a series of slow-burn scenes. It’s only by mastering the artifacts of the old gods combat mechanic that they can stay one step ahead of the darkness that tries to swallow the world of his, but will that be enough?

I haven't finished the game yet but I feel more than confident to leave a positive review. I think it's one of the best lovecraft around at the moment, so if you find it on sale, well get it, it's worth it. Setting and sountrack are perfect, presence of (easy) puzzles and monsters to escape from. The only downside, it's not intuitive and the story is a bit confusing. 7/10 my rating

An Enigmatic Journey Through the Uncharted - "The Shore"Review
Overall Rating: 9/10
"The Shore" is a first-person horror adventure game developed by Ares Dragonis and published by Dragonis Studio. This indie title offers players an immersive and atmospheric experience that delves into Lovecraftian horror and cosmic mysteries while exploring the enigmatic world of a deserted island.
Storyline : 8/10
The game follows the journey of Andrew, a man in search of his missing daughter, who stumbles upon a mysterious and foreboding island. As he explores the island's eerie landscapes and encounters otherworldly beings, he unravels a complex narrative that blends elements of cosmic horror and psychological torment. "The Shore" stands out for its captivating storytelling, and it keeps players engaged with its intriguing and enigmatic plot.
Gameplay : 7/10
"The Shore" emphasizes exploration, puzzle-solving, and a sense of dread rather than action-packed gameplay. The puzzles are well-crafted and contribute to the game's overall sense of mystery. However, some players may find the pacing slow, and a few mechanics might feel a bit clunky at times. Nevertheless, the game's eerie ambiance and intriguing world make up for these minor shortcomings.
Graphics and Atmosphere : 9/10
Visually, "The Shore" is a striking game. The island's environments are beautifully rendered, and the attention to detail in its eerie landscapes is impressive. The lighting and sound design work harmoniously to create a palpable atmosphere of dread and wonder, immersing players in the otherworldly island setting.
Horror Elements : 8/10
The game excels in delivering a slow-burning, psychological horror experience. It relies on unsettling visuals, eerie soundscapes, and a sense of impending doom to build tension. "The Shore" effectively captures the essence of Lovecraftian horror, making you question the nature of reality and your own sanity as you delve deeper into the island's secrets.
Conclusion : 9/10
"The Shore" is a captivating and atmospheric indie horror game that manages to create a compelling Lovecraftian narrative and a sense of unease. Its well-executed storytelling, stunning visuals, and psychological horror elements make it a must-play for fans of the genre. While the gameplay may not be action-packed and could use a bit more polish, the overall experience is hauntingly satisfying. If you enjoy thought-provoking horror games that immerse you in a world of cosmic mysteries and existential dread, "The Shore" is an island worth exploring.

Creepy Lovecraftian walking simulator.
The video game industry of Greece is dead. Games have been banned from 2002 till 2011.
No wonder they haven't produced anything worthwhile.
So when a Greek indie studio made this game, we can be more lenient to its more amateurish aspects.
"The Shore" got a lot of exposure when the youtuber IGP released his 2.4 mil video.
That's how I found this game and was intrigued.
The sound design is good. The game is beautiful.
The voice acting is amateurish, but as mentioned before we can overlook the smaller issues.
Two Lovecraftian games of recent times are "The Sinking City" and "Call of Cthulhu".
Both games are famously lacking, but I personally believe that having more atmospheric exploration like in The Shore would have enhanced these games.
"The SHORE" is basically "Grey Dawn" mixed with "Lust from Beyond" but shorter.

This is a must play for anyone interested in Lovecraft/Cosmic horror.
Its largely a walking simulator, the puzzles are pretty simple, combat is sparse, and wont take long to beat. However, it addresses the same urge a good horror short satisfies. Go in expecting some good visuals and atmosphere, and you're good.

GRADE: C+. The Shore is really more of a First Person VR Visual Novel. Its a chill game where you explore a creepy island straight outta Lovecraft's wildest dreams. Even when played without the VR set its still optimized for keyboard and mouse, but its does get a little extra Shiny when you play through a VR head set. The Best thing about his game is the atmosphere and the stunning visuals. The Puzzles and actual game play are both pretty easy and I beat the game and got all the achievements in about 4 hours. However that's probably the right portion size for this game and it kept it from getting old, and since i didnt pay too much im happy enough with it.
The Shore is a walking simulator/visual novel steeped in the unsettling lore of H.P. Lovecraft. The game uses characters and references from his expanded mythos, crafting an eerie atmosphere that sets a creepy tone that does right by the subject matter. The Story is interesting but vague and not everyone will be pleased with the way it is concluded. Still there are some very striking parts of this game (especially in VR) and Some of the visuals are mind-bendingly awesome
Also be prepared for some genre whiplash. The first act unfolds like a classic first-person point-and-click adventure. As you explore the environment you collect items and bits of story while solving puzzles. Click this, grab that, piece together some eldritch backstory. But the second act just throws you into a series of static scenes and adds some rudimentary combat. While its not inherently bad its just basic and these elements feel a bit out of place compared to the slow-burn exploration of the first act. Still some of the most memorable parts of the game are presented in these scenes. Overall i felt it was worth the handful of hours it took to run through this game. But i cant see why i would ever play it again.

What a perfect way to spend a relaxing couple of quality hours on a cosy Sunday afternoon with all your favourite elder gods and eldritch horrors.
I never could of imagined how thick my boy Cthulhu has got until i saw him nonchalantly strolling along the shore in the nude.
My only disappointment was that we did not lose our sanity and attempt sexual intercourse with a deep one, but perhaps I have watched The Lighthouse one too many times.
I just wish we got to find out more about those leeches with the 18 testicles, maybe they are saving that for the Shore 2 ?
TLDR: Seriously a must buy when on sale for every Lovecraft fan
