The Last Fighter is a Laush game. Anyone familiar with that name probably already moved on from the review knowing whether they are going to enjoy this or not. To be fair, their games have actually been improving since the day of easy achievement spaming titles were a hit on this platform.
The Last Fighter is designed as an old-school side-scrolling shooter akin to the days of early Duke Nukem and the like, though with more of a militaristic John Rambo vibe. WASD are your controls, space to jump, right ctrl to fire your gun, and guns there are iun this game. You have the traditional pea-shooter, a three bullet scatter shotgun, machine gun, grenade launcher.
You also have a decent difficulty curve favoring more on the cheap shot hard side.It helps to pay attention to the color of your enemy's outfit, as that signifies which weapon they have, and if it's the grenade launcher then prepare for utter shenanigans that will eat away at your three lives fast.
Difficulty aside, the only issue I have with this one is the jump mechanics when dealing with ladders. If you're a split second off with the a+w or d+w combo (w being jump in this case) you'll just fall or miss your mark. If you're waiting for the right time to strike while hiding on a ladder, you also slowloy slide downwards, which canleave you suspended in mid-air and end up plummeting to the ground since you can't jump off empty space.
With that eing the onlyu grievous I have with this title so far, I'm pleased with yet another Laush title. I picked this up on sale for forty-nine cents (it also was in a ecent bundle on indiegala) and I keep returning to get my ass whupped because fuck the guys with the grenade launchers. Even at two dollars US, The Last Fighter makes for a fuin romp when you're bored and just want something you can pick upand play without an epic quest or opposing team to t-bag you in the end.
