The First Odyssey
Positives:
+ Nice graphics
+ Good sounds and music
+ Okay voiceacting
+ Creepy atmosphere
+ Exploration is rewarded
+ Nicely designed spaceship and interior
+ Quite entertaining and interesting at its best
+ Some puzzles
+ The special pistol with mounted light (no batteries needed)
+ Its free
Negatives:
- Nasty bugs that never were fixed
- Some of the things you need to progress are almost impossible to see/find
- If you die from enemy encounters, you must start the game all over again
- Can get frustrating at times
- You can only run for a very short amount of time
- The flashlight is almost useless when under 50% battery
- The battery drains so fast, it must be an apple product
- Uneccessary and badly made enemy encounters (would be better without)
- Quite a lot of dark places where you almost cant see anything
- Only one savepoint in the entire game
- You loose all your inventory after the game saves and the next "level" is loaded
- You can pick up some items without opening closets
- Jumping is quirky
- Achievements are not working
- Quite short length (over in about 2 hours, not counting restarts because of bugs or death)
Conclusion:
Well, what can I say? The game is not as bad as most reviews suggest. Its actually quite alright. But most of the problems mentioned are true, especially the bugs. Why this never were fixed, I have no idea. But that aside, and the fact that some items are really hard to find, the game is actually okay. And that was a surprise. So if you can cope with all the problems its got, you can have quite a good time, believe it or not. But its not for the faint-hearted, thats for sure.
Total Score: 6/10
Hints if you get stuck (Spoilers ahead):
You need to pick up an grey usb-stick located in the laundry room right next to the letter
You need a keycard that can be found on top of a cabinet in the first antique retro looking room. To achieve this you need to move a chair next to it and jump on it to be able to pick up the keycard
In the outdoor level you need to type a 4 digit number in the church. Numbers can be found on the screens on different locations around the church (gravejard, barn, cabin and tower). Set them in correct order according to the poster in the church.
Hope this helps. It was almost impossible to find the usb-stick and keycard, so I imagine others will struggle with this as well.

This game was quite okay. I had a pretty good time playing it, although I don't really get why I was collecting so many items in the first phase of the game, only to lose everything later when to my surprise my entire inventory was empty again. There was barely any use for all those bullets and medication anyway, but why then let people collect all that stuff to later just take it away again? You let me buy a gun and 3 minutes later it's gone. The second part of the game was pretty good and intense though. Please click the link above to see my playlist of this game on Youtube
