The Eyes of Dr Kautzmann
Inspired by German expressionist cinema, The Eyes of Dr Kautzmann is an atmospheric and haunting exploration of radicalisation and the apathy of evil. A first-person point-and-click puzzle/horror game, it will challenge your logic and critical thinking skills just as it horrifies you with its disturbing narrative.
Uncover the Mystery of a Doomed Town
Use your detective skills to piece together the history of a town and find the secrets behind its ultimate fate.
Solve Environmental Puzzles
Apply your understanding of the mystery to solve environmental puzzles and escape the same tragic fate that befell the town’s inhabitants.
Experience a Haunting Atmosphere
Taking inspiration from German expressionist cinema and gothic 19th century literature, The Eyes of Dr Kautzmann features a surreal art design and atmosphere that will leave you questioning your own reality.
Note: Currently, only Act 1 is available to play. The game will be updated in the future when more content is complete.

If you want a playable point-and-click The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari experience, this is not quite it (yet). I really do hope the developer continues working on the game and adding more content as it has a lot of potential.
The game looks great and has no technical problems that I noticed. It's very short (as of this review), but it's free so what does that really matter?
My only suggestion to the developer is to make the text in documents a bit more readable. With the filter, it was a bit straining to read pages of handwritten documents that don't have alternate readable/plain text versions as most games in this style have nowadays.

VERY interesting game, with an interesting idea and a beautiful expressionist film aesthetic, I'd love to see more of this game as it seems there's more planned in the future which is very exciting!

This is not a playable game, but a very brief opportunity for the player to inhabit the world of Dr. Caligari Kautzmann.
For those wanting to see the original material that inspired this work, be sure to see the film 'The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari.'
The aesthetic is superbly captured here and would definitely be a fabulous environment for a full game.
For the tiny bit that exists right now? 5 of 5 stars. 0005 stars. That's zero-zero-zero-five, though why, no one seems to really know just yet. (So the puzzle aspect clearly needs work. ;^)

A blend of German expressionist film and classic point-and-click games such as Myst. The eerie tone of the game and surrealist visuals hooked me in and the "show, don't tell" style of storytelling kept me intrigued as a world-building technique. I did get stuck, but worked it out with a friend. Its only short in length, but when I had worked enough out to finish the game, I found myself wanting more.
The hand-drawn art, stylized font and creepy title theme give the game a distinct vibe that separates it from low-effort freeware.
I hope more is released in the future, and as a free indie game, you can't ask for much more. Very interesting.

Dunno what to say about this but for the most part you'd think to yourself surely it can't be that simple to your surprise it is that simple ... i can imagine the vexation it'd cause topped with the brilliant soundtrack but all in all ... couldn't be me ... git gud ... worth the experience ? ehh no clear answer for that but i'd say its worth a shot if you got free time on your hands and a broke ass bank account :)

An interesting seemingly first taste of more to come. There is 1 "puzzle" as such, and honestly I don't understand why the answer is the answer, but I am really bad at these types of games. Thank you to the person who wrote the guide!
As others have mentioned, it's a little hard to read at times - a way to just toggle on an overlay with plain text would be very helpful. (I know it's immersion breaking, but it's better than missing things because you can't quite make out words!)
The story got it's hooks in me very quickly though, keen to see more down the road.
