Harry’s current assignment takes him to the infested futuristic research facility on planet Zoit. The surviving and dwindling number of scientists employed him for his slaughtering skills. Harry’s mission: survive until the decontamination of the building is complete, hoard coins like his life depended on it, and protect the scientists at all costs. Watch out for the spiders as they have a particular fondness for rubber encased scientists. After landing, you will move from room to room through the facility blasting rockets, lasers, and wielding the power of lighting upwards at anything not human. '

OVERVIEW: Ever heard about the saying "if it ain't broke don't fix it!"? Welcome to Bug Butcher, heavely inspired by Pang but aiming to take it up to the next level. The storyline of a laidback hero attempts to add flavour to it, did it make it?
Pros
-» Gameplay: Feels very polished with the dash option, multiple weapons and a chance to upgrade them
-» Soundtrack and sound effects: cute voice effects and well chosen groove for the mission ahead
-» Graphics: appealing backgrounds to comeback to
-» Replayability: massive when you consider panic co-op mode or attempting to go up the world online ladder
-» Difficulty: Easy to get into
Cons
-» I am surprised in a good way by this game, so nothing i feel I need to speak about here
SUMMARY:
8.3/10 gaming scale
Disclosure: After clearing the main campaign and, as I comeback for new sessions or new updates arise by developers, I intend to keep revising this review

The Bug Butcher is a thrilling blend of classic arcade shooting and modern charm. Its fast-paced gameplay, responsive controls, and chaotic enemy waves keep you on your toes, while the colorful art style and quirky humor make it a joy to play. Perfect for quick sessions or chasing high scores, it’s an absolute blast for fans of action-packed shooters.

Super simple gameplay loop, but it is deeply satisfying. Shooting up and only up makes for unique shooting mechanics. It's a lot like the bubble popping web browser games from our youth, but with great art design!

It´s a hard game, even on easy.
For now, stage 3 looks impossible to me.
I don´t like the time counter.
But if you are into arcade shooter games
and your reflexes are better than mine,
this one feels like a solid classic on a
resonable price tag.

This a very surprising arcade game even in 2024. Looks like it might get boring after some time but they keep introducing new mechanics in every map. I have never tried the co-op but is should be even better than playing solo. Also the price is very fair. Got it for free but would pay 8€ for this for sure. Try the demo if you're not sure :)

Very fun game.
Brings me back the arcade vibes 30 something years ago.
Definitely a Pang successor with great drawings and fluidity
