Thalassophobia
A game that borrows inspiration from the roguelike and survival genre alike and puts you in an instant fight for survival against mysterious creatures, starvation, insanity and more.
Be prepared to fail over and over again while you keep learning how to keep a good balance of yours crews needs and safety.
Thalassophobia is a game that has potential to be played over and over again.
Gameplay
A big part of the gameplay is about balance, keep your crew rested, healthy and fed without wasting too much supplies and keep an eye on their sanity levels.
Make quick decisions, should you waste your last food now or can you hold on just a little bit longer?
Will you go as far as eating the corpses just to survive another day?
Its your crew, your decision and everyone's life on the line.
Repair your ship, no matter how much supplies you have, you wont get far on a sinking ship.
Once again its all about finding that balance, if your recourses are low then stick with emergency repairs while scouting for more materials.
What Thalassophobia does best is giving you the ability to upgrade your ship with barbwire, turrets and much more, this is a crucial step to staying alive.
Final thoughts
While i recommend you to give this game a chance, i do want to give a fair warning and say that this might not be suitable for people new to this kind of gameplay as it can get very chaotic very fast if you don't know what you are doing.
That being said, i give this game a thumbs up with all the best wishes for the dev.

This is a preliminary review after just first impressions.
The graphics are really not good: everything is kind of blurry, low res and amateur looking.
The game takes quite a while to load which is really surprising given what it's loading.
The interface is not very intuitive.
You can't change the controls. They are wasd, f to centre screen on captain, mouse and mouse buttons.
This is a real time game with no pause. It is not a traditional roguelike. I don't see any persistence features yet so it may not be a roguelite either. It seems to have procedural elements to it though.
There is a good sense of the crew going round and acting independently. There is a good atmosphere of horror.
I will play more and report back.
