The next generation in adventure games, Syberia 3 takes you inside an enchanting, mysterious universe full of life for you to explore in 3D. Plunged into the heart of a world inhabited by a cast of interesting characters, you'll discover and experience a fabulous tale as imagined by Benoit Sokal.

After the first two games, I was doubtful about picking this one. I jumped into the Syberia series expecting only a few problems with the third game, but it was quite the opposite.
There is a lot to consider with the first two games, so if you are reading this review before purchasing the entire collection, I highly recommend you read my reviews on those games.
Syberia 3 is currently the series' ugly duckling. I started playing the game expecting it to be horrible, but I was pleasantly happy with it. There is nothing wrong with the plot of this game—something I can't say about the first two games. Syberia 3's weakness lies in its controls. That is all.
Now, if you want to easily overcome that problem and have lots of fun, I have the solution for you:
1. Camera + Movement: Walk and look around with your Xbox controller.
2. Interactions: Use your Xbox controller because these interactions are on a wheel, and while everything is done with the left click of the mouse, you may find it confusing and difficult to manage. These controls are located and colored similarly to the A, X, Y, and B buttons on your controller.
3. Puzzles: The puzzles in Syberia 3 are movement-based. While certain moves are simpler with the analog stick on the Xbox controller, others are easier with the mouse. I simply switched back and forth between them.
4. Access to (I)nventory, (O)bjective, and your (J)ournal may be easy to learn on the controller, yet I found myself pushing the keyboard buttons a few times for quick access.
Everything good about Syberia 3
1. The world is breathtaking. The graphics are greatly improved from the first games, which will enhance your experience. The details around you are stunning, and you can clearly see the effort that has gone into telling this story.
2. The story is well written, which I cannot say for the first two games. One of my issues with the first two games was Kate's insignificance to the plot. You play Kate, but you are a character in someone else's story. This is not the case with this game. Even the people I didn't like were well-written. Everything fell into place in Syberia 3.
3. Kate is significant! Kate is no longer an observer. She has emotions, ideas, and desires. The overall story is considerably better, and conversations are not as one-sided as they were in the previous games.
4. Cinematic points of interest: There will be a few interactions that will allow you to look around and hear Kate's thoughts. It's her way of taking in her surroundings. Those were a lovely addition.
5. The puzzles are excellent. Syberia 3 is not a HOG. One of my pet peeves in Syberia I and II was how rarely the riddles and answers were reasonable. You just solve them by looking around and collecting hidden objects left in illogical places, then experimenting with alternative combinations. Syberia 3 has story-based puzzles, and as long as you look everywhere and speak to everyone, you'll quickly figure out what you need to look for or how to solve them.
At last, Syberia 3 had everything I wanted to experience in the earlier games but couldn't because of their limitations. It's a shame that many people couldn't find a way to play and enjoy this game. It's a diamond in the sand.

I know that a lot of people say that the first two are the best and they do have a special place in my heart from when I played them long ago, but when I replayed them recently, the time spent watching Kate walk from one place to another like a snail really drove me crazy. Although it took me about 30 min. to get used to using my x-box controller with this game, once I did it was sooo much better than the old games. The movement was still a little janky, but overall way less mind numbingly boring. Also the plot and graphics are better. What more could you ask for?

Without a doubt, the entire Syberia series is one of the best (And one of my favorites) series ever made in the history of videogames. A timeless masterpiece, a sweet adventure which melts your heart, words cannot describe how impactuf it is for every person who lives this experience, it leaves indelible marks in your soul.
Benoît Sokal was and always will be a genius and a special human being, it's a huge loss for the world and i truly hope he will rest in peace as he deserves, thank you for everything <3
A MESSAGE FOR THE DEVELOPERS:
Dear developers, I TRULY HOPE that this will NOT be the end of this series. Every single Syberia game shows how much you LOVE this series, you can definitely make a Syberia: The World Before sequel, even without our beloved Benoît Sokal (He will still watch you from above :) ).
So please, PLEASE!!! Give us a sequel, give it to us!!! We desire it with all our hearts ç_ç
Also... You perfectly know that this can't be the end of this journey, Kate Walker's journey never ends ;)

Recommended, BUT....!
This is probably the weakest out of the Syberia collection. First, the cons:
- controls are awful
- cutscenes & dialogue unskippable
- voiceovers are irritating (I switched to French with English subtitles because the voices just didn't match the characters & it was really ruining the experience - a surly dodgy doctor shouldn't sound like a LA teen!)
- ending was a bit meh...
- animations are at that dodgy stage where facial & body mapping was good, but still always seemed a little creepy because it always felt off
Now for the pros...
- scenery & artwork is beautiful as always
- story is good
- puzzles range from super easy to quite challenging
- music was well chosen for the scenes
Overall, I have mixed feelings on this one. I generally didn't enjoy it quite as much as the others, most likely because I found the controls & camera angle switching irritating & couldn't get into the story as much while running around in circles.
Buy it on heavy, heavy sale, if only to keep up with the story before getting S4.

I adore the architecture, the girl's voice, and the automatons. RIP Benoit Sokal.

This game should be named "Saving nomad Youkoles".
Story: not bad.
Art, atmosphere, music: very good, always been an excellent part since the first even in 3d, and is always the main reason for which I played all Syberia games.
Control: need some practice even using xbox controller.
Moving camera angle: horrible, very bad. That's why controlling is a big trouble. Had developers played resident evil? They should learn camera control from it.
Puzzles: not too hard, but terrible controlling would make the mirror puzzle near the end a nightmare.
Special note: for Steam Deck users, the screen resolution should be 1280x720 (not 800), or player would be stuck in the boat miniature puzzle (again, camera issue...)
Game crash: never happenes on Steam Deck.
Despite some glitches, this is overall a good game.

Syberia 2
